🤬Bitch Catch all/random thread

Took the kid to a hibachi yesterday for her birthday. It's always where she wants to go, every time.

No longer BOGO meals for birthdays. And prices went up quite a lot. $75 for me and a 14 year old.

I remember when a chicken/steak combo was like $16. Good times. Also the last time I went with family they tossed fucking raw broccoli at us instead of shrimp.

$25 now, that's we I get. Now that is also lunch the next day, so it's still not a terrible deal.

And this was the first time one of them has ever tossed the food at us. All these years and it's a first. Maybe because we were literally the only ones in the dining room at 4:45pm  But he didn't toss shrimp or broccoli....nope, a glob of fucking rice. Twice at my daughter and then when I heckled her, he took aim at me. Got me right in the forehead. Been a while since I've tossed food, never had a problem with a grape or popcorn. You know what makes that shit extra hard? Wearing progressive glasses. I've only had these new strength glasses for a few days, then a glob of rice is flying at me and as it gets closer and tilt my head, I see through different part of the glasses and the rice is in a different location

Just bought my first "pair" of glasses from zenni.

Definitely cheaper. Weary of buying glasses without being able to try them on.
Have been using them for years, a bit of a learning curve to get the right ones w/o trying on, but worth it.

I just read off the size and measured one other dimension to get as close as possible to my sunglasses that I just got that fit perfectly.

I usually use Walmart, they're notably cheaper than most places...but I noticed price increases on stuff before any tariffs even kicked in. Price gouging fuckers

One thing I like about zenni....having their dimensions in inches also. Enough with this mm shit...I get it's more precise, but for online ordering, we don't all have a metric ruler sitting around.

Thankfully my lasik is still going strong. I am going to need some readers soon though.

I had Lasik 23 years ago. It is slipping some, but it was still good enough to pass the eye exam at the DMV about 4 years ago. No problems watching TV, or movies, or driving.

When it finally does go, I will just get glasses again. I'll be about 60 by then so I won't give a shit.

I have no desire to try it. Shooting lasers in my eyes seems like a really dumb idea. I'll just keep wearing my contact lenses.
It was a terrible experience for me, think they botched one eye a little bit, but I don’t need glasses. The Valium or whatever I took before the procedure did not help. Only experience I’ve gone through that was worse was fixing a nose bleed issue last year.

Huh. I went to Dr. Maida and the experience was a breeze. The Valium was the best part lol.

I hated it. Valium didn't work for me either. I have super sensitive eyes so I could never wear contacts.
Well it's just a fairly mild drug. The couple surgeries I've had, Docs gave me xanax for the day of.

But I love valium. Valium is what they give you in detox for withdrawals, obviously they can't give you xanax "booze in a pill". 10mg of valium every 6 hours is fucking fantastic...well, after the first day or two where it's just keeping you sane. But shit....there were periods where I was just floating and it was wonderful.

But yeah, I know they didn't give you 10mg

Never had codeine and it's been 20+ years since I enjoyed vicodin. Couldn't say. Valium is just another benzo like xanax, but it's safer and has a longer half life. I never took enough xanax to feel high and I only took it when I absolutely needed it, so I don't know what the "fun" aspect of that is for people.

The best I can describe it for me is that valium is like the elusive, absolute perfect hit of weed, not 1 second more or less. Completely relaxed, a little of that floating feeling, not the easiest to maintain a thought, but none of the side effects of weed. And I've only taken it when I was in withdrawals, so I can only imagine taking it sober

I thought about asking the Dr. if I could get a little for a flight, but the flight is so short I wouldn't be able to drive once we got there
