Coaches' rankings out

Post by Toothy »

USA Today rankings are out.

Gators play a tough SEC opponent, lose by a FG at the gun, and drop from 3/4 to 7. Gotta be grateful -- they could have dropped further. If they beat LSU, they'll still be in the heat of the BCS race.

Sooners also lose by 3, drop from 3/4 to 10.

Formerly #5 West Virginia somehow drops only to 12 for getting popped by South Florida. Get this -- South Florida is the ninth-ranked team in the country! That is eye-popping. Congratulations to them. (FSU and Miami? Nowhere to be found.)

Texas drops from 7 to 16.

Rutgers drops from 10 to 21 after Maryland beats them.

We are 9th in the AP Poll. I think it's fair how far we dropped. I certainly didn't expect us to drop from the top ten, so I was glad to see that didn't happen. I'm also happy to see LSU ranked #1 in the AP Poll.

Kentucky is ranked 8th in both polls. Joey is thrilled and he keeps saying "We are ranked above you in one poll!"

I hope we can shock everyone next week and win vs. LSU.

It's gonna shock me after that show of offense.

Same here. Harvey looked like a stud, but that was about it. Major Wright and Joe Haden are going to be good, they are just so young. And what happened to Tony Joiner last night? He was a non-factor to say the least.

Toothy, I agree, but I still think we have a better chance of winning against LSU than if we had won last night. I really think the more that LSU goes in thinking they are world beaters and we suck, then the better we are gonna do.

I did like the look of the players after the game in the locker room interviews...they looked really down. TT looked like he might even have been a little choked up. I like it that they HATE losing. We really need the few "leaders" we have to step it up and help the younger guys.
Okay, let's try this!
