Seemed like a shallow treatment of the concept of 'exceptionalism', but I suppose there's no way around that now that humanity has largely destroyed its culture and, thus, its direction.
The one thing I'll give him is that we've been *relatively* peaceful when compared with previous superpowers. We took economic coercion to the next level. And I suppose economic slavery is better than killing innocent people in conquests for resources.
Of course, citizens of ancient Rome elevated the status of their society in the same way we tend to...
