After two years of rooting against OSU, I'm rooting for them tonight.

It's your last chance to see that over-rated LB whose dad was a rassler play in the ol' scarlet and silver. Brings a tear to my eye.

Laurinaitis? Jesus, I'm terrified he'll be a Bear first-round draft pick and I'll have to watch his ass for the next two years.

You know, I was just about to turn the game on. Then I thought, there's nothing in this for me. I'm going to bed.

Todd...I was just coming on this forum to post the exact same thing. It's hard to root for them, but I am too. It was like that other Big 12/ACC game...Nebraska and whoever? Anyway, we have been rooting against all Big 12 and ACC teams this whole season.
Okay, let's try this!

So far I think this game bodes well for us so far. tOSU defense has stifled UTex offense. I happen to think our defense should be able to have a good game Thurs.

Not impressed by UT's high powered offense at all.

Well Texas finally scored but their high powered offense needed to fake a punt, go for it on 4th down twice and get at least two big penalties from tOSU (the last of which was totally bogus). Eh.

pryor couldn't throw a pass to save his life.

beenie wells has no heart and quit on his team

number 90, the defensive end, had 3 dumb penalties...2 were late hits on mccoy (1 to the head), and one was a 'in the neutral zone' penalty...dumb because he was moving to the other side of the defensive line THROUGH the neutral zone instead of behind the linemen...just dumb.

I was rooting for Texas. I'll never grow tired of seeing the shots of crestfallen tOSU fans.

Rad, I couldn't agree more about Pryor...they have no offense...as usual. But I still think UF would kill Texas if we played them. Of course, we'll learn soon enough since OK is pretty much the same thing.

I went to bed before the game was over. Reading the accounts of the game this morning is hilarious, where Mack Brown is trying to puff up his team as the best in the country and lobbying for Colt McCoy for Heisman next year. Dood, you just barely beat a bad tOSU team. STFU and sit down.

after the game, they interviewed quan cosby (senior WR and had 2 tds) and he said "he was happy to prove the doubters wrong (about UT) and that they were able to win"

DOOD! you were favored by like 7 points the last time i looked...they half assed it all night for the exception of 2 drives.

i thought UT would've given a better performance...i think UF kills them...i'm happy OU gets the chance to play.

Every goddamn kid in the world has nothing to say anymore except Nobody gave us any respect and We proved you wrong. It's so rote. I hate hearing it. It's so faux-gangsta. Nothin but haterz in this world.

This no respect thing does not relate to this game at all. UT should have come out with everything to prove and put a smackdown on tOSU in order to have any hope of getting the split title by way of the AP poll vote. For this game the got the utmost respect because everyone said the SHOULD win and win BIG. If you wanted to prove anyone wrong you needed to win by two touchdowns AT LEAST.

My take on this game as it relates to ours is this, tOSU team that played last night is not IMO as good as the one we played 2 years ago and I think we would kill the current version as bad or worse than 41-14. They held in check, for the most part, a Texas team that had everything in the world to play for and needed to put up a lot of points. I think we're better on defense than last nights tOSU team. This leads me to thinking we should be able to slow down the OU offense as effectively tOSU stopped Texas. tOSU's offense was horrible and still nearly pulled this out so I'm looking at our offense having a good game against an OU defense that gave up 45 to Texas. Long story short, I'm feeling better about our game now, having seen last nights game.

This now concludes my apples to oranges to squash (butternut) to romaine lettuce comparison.

2008 tOSU has a better RB and defense IMO but a weaker QB and WR's.

95, I agree, and the Mississippi win over Texas Tech also builds this argument.

I'll say it again -- that boy Houston Nutt is for real.

He really is. He'll do as well as you can at Mississippi without a QB named Manning.

Wow.  That is almost comic book like in its perfection.  If he had an eye patch he might be Snake Pliskin.

mike leach/graham harrell looked lost playing an SEC defense...i don't care how many TDs harrell had...he looked lost and unsure.

i wholeheartedly agree with 95s thoughts on UT having to have something to prove and didn't...that is a good point.

i for one watched the TT/OLE MISS game as somewhat of a bell weather for our thursday showdown...the interest in that game had to do with how an offensive minded big12 team would fare against a defensive minded sec team...the way i saw it, the sec team prevailed because it's defense was better than any that has ever played that big 12 team and their offense was good enough to outscore....good enough to outscore because the big 12 defense aint as stout as the sec team was accustomed to seeing.

this will obviously be a key to thursdays matchup...florida's defense needs to be able to stop the OU offense at least half the time OUs got the ball...do that and score more than half the time YOU have the ball....i think UF can score more than half the times they possess the ball for sure...i'm pretty hopeful they can keep OU from doing the same.
