WTF is up with these bowls? I am 11-8 so far. How is everyone else doing? Do you have any tips on how you make choices for the Who Cares Bowls that happen early in the bowl season?

+1. I don't think of that one as much, but, really, it's just as good.

The real problem is this: it is December 31 and already something like 20 bowls have been played. Suck is the word.

OK, that is a smart ass answer that I would post. So you got me.

What I meant was, do any of you have a research method that you use to pick the winners? The problem is with some of these early Who Gives a Damn bowls where the spread is less that 3 points.

Really? Why do you do that? Just curious. I usually rely on the spread to the early bowls.

I do okay, not great, in picking bowls. I think it's really hard to pick team tendencies after a month layoff. Some guys (Bowden, Carroll, Rodriguez) overachieve in bowls. Some (Spurrier, Stoops) seem to underachieve. But that ain't reliable enough for a one-time bet. Far easier to pick regular-season matchups.

The underdog has weeks to hear about how they suck adn are going to get killed and come out on fire. Works (usually) for all bowls.
