Mon Williams ran wild during last Saturday's scrimmage. Coach Meyer said the day welcomed him back to Florida football. No matter what it did, his emergence adds much needed depth to the running back group.
Q: “What do you attribute your big Saturday to?”
A: “The Lord. I just prayed every night and waited for my opportunity. Then when Emmanuel (Moody) came he kept pushing me. He knew what I was going through because he had the same injury. It was good to be close with somebody who went through something similar.”
Q: “What are you starting to see on the field?”
A: “I’m just running and finding the holes. I trusted the scheme. I’m finally able to trust my legs too, so that helps me out.”
Q: “Was it frustrating for you to sit out last year?”
A: “Oh yeah. It felt like nobody knew me anymore. All my guys wouldn’t call me to see how I was doing, so I fell out of touch with everything. My parents helped me out a lot by always asking how I was doing.”
Q: “What did you learn from sitting out a season?”
A: “I learned how to work harder. I feel like I have a very good grasp of the offense right now. The last season taught me how to get in the film room and actually work hard in there.”
