no hanging chads, no mistaking of voting for someone and voting for another, no stories of police detours or stupid shit like that

the country needs a clear cut winner...i am truly praying for a large margin winner....it could get real ugly if it's close and there's controversy is what i'm sayin.

For which reason the voting mechanism should not be a proprietary secret. Having the Diebold machines be the recorders of the vote is asking for trouble. A big pencil checkmark in a box next to someone's face and name is how I'd do that MF if I were running things.

I agree with both comments.

Hopefully we will see voting reform as a priority of the new Administration.

I will add this. My wife's grandmother, who passed away in May just short of her 103rd birthday, was sharp as a tack until she died. She played bridge the month she died and won. She talked to me on the phone 36 hours before she died and was cracking jokes.

She did not grow up in a mouse-click society. Adapting to the internet was incredibly hard for her. And she hated the new voting machines. She said that most of her friends, 80+, did too. They assumed a level of comfort with interactive screens and digital forward-and-back page interfaces that older people do not have.

I think the optimal solution is the optical scanner ballot. I used one back in 2000 and it was pretty easy, and most folks who went to school from 1970 onward are familiar with the concept. Plus, you get paper records and a computer tally, all in one!

I think the first thing we should do as part of this "voting overhaul" is to prevent the democrats from voting 10 or 15 times like they like to do.

Clean ALL of the voter rolls. Throw em out. Start over. And go forward with requiring everyone to personally re-register. But that's just silly talk. ACORN is so far in Barak's pocket it won't matter.

What kind of bullshit are you pushing here? I think you are making some incorrect statements. You are better than this.

Agreed, rad. I think we would've had big problems if either side had contested the results.

ACORN is a criminal organzation based on fraud. Its purpose is to register minority democrats to win election for the left.

Did anyone here the sound byte from the guy in Philly yesterday saying he voted a couple of times? Hilarious. I guess some people do have
more of a right to vote than others.

I don't even know how that's possible. I was identified, handed one diebold card and directed to one monitor. My cat couldn't have voted and I couldn't have voted more than once. It's lame that people try to register fake/dead people, but I really don't see how that turns into an actual vote.

Did you happen to catch the fact that McCain addressed ACORN in 2006 and praised them for their activities?

I don't give a shit who adressed or praised them, they're fucking criminals, but nice attempt at diversion from the issue.

Here in NC it would be really really simple. All you would need to do is be registered to vote in two or more precincts. Technically, you could even do it in the same precinct, but you would risk being picked off by the poll workers.

All you would need to do is provide "proof" of address when you register in a precinct. That includes showing a cable or electric bill as proof. A picture ID is NOT required to register. Nor is it required to vote. So, once you're registered in multiple precincts under multiple names, you just show up at each one and give your name. They find you on the rolls for that precinct and they give you a ballot.

Rinse. Lather. Repeat.

This is why they should just throw out ALL of the rolls and start over. Require a picture ID and proof of citizenship before issuance of a voter registration card.

But that would cut down on the DEM votor rolls by at least 25%...and we can't have that.

Again, since you missed it: I detest ACORN and it is a criminal organization, regardless of who praised them.
And since "nyaah nyaah" seems a bit highbrow for you, how does "Ain't facts a bitch?" apply here?

Since you obviously missed my point, why would McCain give a keynote speech to a criminal organization?

And Olbermann pretty much debunks the whole voter fraud thing.

And where exactly did I say Nyaah Nyaah? If this was Too Hot, I would do that, especially to some of the jackasses who have given me shit over there, but its not.

My guess is you're not going to sway bg too much in this debate by using Olbermann as a reference tool (emphasis on tool). Just guessing by looking at his signature, anyway.

ACORN is under investigation in multiple states.
ACORN registers far more democrats.
ACORN is a pipeline for money that engenders goodwill towards democrats from minorities.
And..seriously...are you attempting to say that the opinion of a closet Marxist hairdo sportscaster supersedes the facts in evidence?
I expect blind allegiance from the far left; it's their hallmark. But allow me to channel your hero..."Understand this:" Your denial is irrelevant. Defending egregious behavior doesn't make you loyal, it makes you a pawn.
