Didn't know if anyone caught Sportscenter but it looks like Bobby didn't last out the year with the Falcons. Can't really blame him for bailing but the SEC did just get another good coach.

figures...right as they're back on our schedule...

fortunately, they won't have the QB or WR to run his offense at Arky, and we already know he can't take a nobody QB and run it...look at the Falcons.

I'm disappointed, cuz he was destroying Atlanta and they're in the same division as the Bucs. Reports I saw said the players there all hated him and he'd made it clear he was going to clear out the veterans in the postseason.

Yeah, he doesn't scare me too much really. Not a bad coach but he just isn't all that a bag of chips IMO.

I just saw that. Good pick up by Arky and the SEC. Not the greatest coach but at least they got a name brand.

The guy made Louisville a BCS school. His offenses are pretty legit and can you really blame him for the Falcons fiasco. The guy is a scumbag but he can coach and recruit a college team

Dood is worse than Saban. In his five years as a head coach, he's gone looking for better offers five times. Arky better be ready to see him bail on them sooner rather than later.

Not entirely to blame, no, certainly not. My point was, though, if handed a worthless QB (see Casey Dick) and no real offensive talent...quick name a returning playmaker for the hogs...he can't really do shit. I'm sure, if he stays (which is a big IF), he can make something of that school. I, however, am not concerned at this point.

Interesting take on Petrino:

Bottom line: The Falcons (3-10) were one unhappy bunch and the ill will went beyond the usual complaints about losing.

"This is the worst year I've ever had in football," one veteran player said. "It's just miserable. I think (Petrino) had a clue about offense, but he couldn't communicate with anybody. You'd talk to him and it was almost as if he would stare at you and not get what you were talking about. He's a strange guy."

That player went even further, claiming that Atlanta owner Arthur Blank had told some of the veteran leaders on the team, including Crumpler and running back Warrick Dunn, that the team had made a mistake in hiring Petrino.

Also mentions that Brian Schottenheimer is rumored as a candidate for the job. That would be awesome for Schotty but I don't want to play against him.

I don't know if anyone saw Pat Forde's article on Petrino on ESPN but it was pretty much dead on. The word "loyalty" is nowhere in that guys vocabulary. The guy is worse than Saban if that is all possible

The DC radio sports morons were all heehaw with nepotism jokes when Brian was working for his dad with the Redskins. Who the fuck is laughing now?
