Bowl Pool questions

Post by slideman67 »

OK, I need my BA friends here to help me out of this Bowl Pool situation. I expect to be invited back into my annual bowl pool soon (even though I have taken 2 straight March Madness and last years Bowl Pool from them - I hope they invite me back! ) What are you guys picking for these two games?

Sugar - UGly vs Hawaii
Rose - The Zooker vs USC.

After what Jones said, I'm pissed at Hawaii. I think Brennan is a good QB and their offense has been great. However, Moreno is the real deal, as we saw in Jacksonville - and that's tough for me to say. I don't want to root for UGly, but if they win in makes the SEC look good. Besides Hater, who is everyone else picking and why?

Same with the Rose. I'm glad we aren't playing the Zooker because I want to root for him. I think given their big game experience USC will probably win. However, I am sick of them and their whining as well. Who are you guys picking and why?

Joey, I am picking Kentucky - I hope they destroy halF asS U. Please tell us they will be up for it.

Thanks for the help.

^^What he said. Damn, I thought you wanted help. Those are two of the easiest picks to make. What kind of scratch you got in the pool?

Thanks for reminding me. I'm gonna try and set one up for the BA. One of those ones where you assign a point total to the games, you pick winners and if the team you pick wins, you get the points you alloted for that game. How ever many bowls there are, that is the highest amount of points you are allowed to allocate or "bet" on any one bowl game. So if there are 20 bowls and you feel confident that UF beats mich, you should assign 20 points to that game. Conversely, if you have the wildcats in a pick em over FSU and you are not confident either way, assign that game 1 point.

Trick is, you only get one "1 point game"

Choose wisely. What do you all think?

Those are fun. Some of the major sites normally let will host them for free. Yahoo, ESPN etc. You just start a group and give out the password and everyone signs up. I'm in if you guys are serious about it.

Its only $5. However, I have had success in the past going with my heart on some picks. For example, Mom went to Wisconsin and I cannot in good faith pick against them. I have also had luck with intangibles, like coaching changes for example. I knew Alabama would lose last year because Shula was leaving.

Come on - you can't tell me that it is not difficult to pick UGly to win and to root for them.

What A1 said. UGA easy. And I don't see Ron Zook actually winning a BCS bowl game any time soon -- which, I would reiterate, is why he'd make a perfect candidate for the head coaching job at the University of Michigan.

In all seriousness, is Illinois any good? I haven't seen them play. Nor have I seen Hawaii.

I watched Illinois play twice this year. They won both games. They are decent but a healthy SC is gonna roll. I know you want to go the otherway to gain seperation in a game where you think everyone will pick SC but they are a 2 touchdown favorite for a reason. Take SC and uga.

Ill is a solid team. If USC takes the game seriously they should win by double digits. UGA on the other hand concerns me. Hawaii can score some points.
