I thought it was awesome that Urban restored Tony Joiner's co-captain status before the game and he played his ass off tonight. He did a great job making sure all the young corners were in position all night--you could see him running around and coaching the young guys.
And Bubba--that guy could take all the unsportsmanlike penalties he wanted as far as I'm concerned, what with all the injuries he's played through and everything he's done as a player and leader for the Gators. I'm gonna miss that kid.

Good for Bubba, that kid has played with more heart plus he is a dead ringer for a bug eyed Jay Z. Bubba has become a great ambassador for the Gator Nation.

Bubba is one of those guys who I expect to be around the program for decades to come. I expect to see him repping UF in the NFL. Just seems like a great guy.

Bubba said earlier in the week he wanted to go out w/ his last catch in the Swamp as a TD and chuck the ball into the stands. Good for him, he's earned it.

I was talking to my dad last night and he asked me what I thought of Bubba chucking the ball up into the stands. I said that given the fact that they weren't sure he'd ever play again after he broke his leg against UT, Bubba can do whatever he damn well pleases to celebrate as far as I'm concerned.

Apparently chucking the ball into the stands has become a tradition for record setting UF receivers....Carlos Alvarez did it on his last TD as a Gator....Travis McGriff did it also I think...a reporter asked Meyer about it after the game....Meyer joked Alvarez wouldn't be allowed back in the locker room...said he was only worried about having to kickoff from the 15.

from the gainesville sun:
Andre Caldwell's unsportsmanlike conduct penalty during Saturday's game against Florida State wasn't an impulse decision. Caldwell had planned the celebration all week.
Continue to 2nd paragraph
Caldwell, Florida's senior receiver, heaved the football into the South end zone stands following a 31-yard touchdown reception that put Florida ahead 38-12 with 8:20 left in Saturday's game with Florida State in The Swamp.
Caldwell was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. But he didn't care.
"I had that planned all week long," Caldwell said. "I was just hoping we were beating them bad so (the penalty) didn't hurt us that much."
Former Florida receivers Carlos Alvarez and Travis McGriff also threw touchdown receptions into the end zone during their final games at The Swamp, something Caldwell was aware of.
Coach Urban Meyer, however, needed an explanation after the touchdown.
"He asked me why I did it," Caldwell said. "I told him it was my last game in The Swamp and I had to do it. I told him Carlos Alvarez did it. I broke his record. So I can do it, too."
Meyer had some fun with Alvarez after getting a quick history lesson afterward.
"I'm going to go kick Carlos Alvarez right in the rear end," Meyer joked. "All that nice stuff ... Carlos is not welcome in our locker room."
Caldwell broke Alvarez's school record for career receptions a week ago in Florida's win over Florida Atlantic. Caldwell said the celebration was even sweeter coming against FSU.
"That was the plan, to embarrass them," Caldwell said. "They would do it to us if we were on the other side. There's a lot of bad blood between us."

I love little traditions like that. It is what makes college football.
“The Knave abideth.” I dare speak not for thee, but this maketh me to be of good comfort; I deem it well that he be out there, the Knave, being of good ease for we sinners.

AWESOME! I'm glad Bubba did it - he will have a great NFL career and has truly been a great Gator!
If the devil had a name, it'd be Chuck Finley.
