A 54-year-old Tacoma man has been arrested for allegedly driving his car into a Pacific Gas & Electric worker in Fresno, trapping the man between two vehicles. According to a witness, Jett Simmons claimed to be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ before making racially charged threats and ramming his car into the PG&E worker.
The witness—a hitchhiker "from Dogtown" by way of West Virginia named Kai (that it—just Kai)—says that after Simmons rammed the man, he got out of the car and tried to smother a bystander with a bear hug. That's when Kai sprung into action and hit the 6'4", 290-pound Simmons on the head with a hatchet. Once, twice, thrice.
Yeah, I did some hunting around the internets and found the guy Kai suh-mashed was booked on attempted murder charges. Sounds like he was hitting up the bath salts.
But a man named Mike Finch on Fark said Kai, who is really named Kyle, grew up in Canadian foster homes “bouncing around the system until he started traveling the festival circuit like any good Canadian hippie”.
He said, “He is not nearly as homeless as he is a hobo, moving from place to place and being himself. He is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I’m glad so many people buy him a meal because he deserves it. He’s one of those weird people who’s frighteningly honest and straight forward. Genuine to the core”.
CLARK, N.J. (WABC) -- Authorities in Union County have issued an arrest warrant for internet celebrity "Kai the hatchet wielding hitchhiker" in the murder of Joseph Galfy, Jr. in Clark, New Jersey
The suspect is identified as Caleb Lawrence McGillvary, a 24-year-old Internet celebrity and is well known on Facebook and YouTube as "Kai the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker."

The victim, Joseph Galfy, was found inside his home on Starlite Drive on May 13, 2013 after officers received a call to check on his well-being.
An autopsy performed the following day determined that Galfy died as a result of blunt force trauma, said Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
Based on the investigation, authorities know that McGillvary has cut his hair in an attempt to alter his appearance.
He was last seen at a light rail station in Haddonfield, N.J. area, said Romankow. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
