Another motherfucking Cold War. Remember when we had the balls to propose projects like Project Iceworm? We used to hollow out entire mountains and make plans for the end of the fucking world. Hell, without the Cold War, maybe we would never have gone to the moon. No moon, no velcro, no Tang, no calculator watches.

Know what I mean?

We need a powerful enemy again so we won't be afraid to do awesome things in defiance of said enemy.

Bill Maher made a great point several years ago. He said that the worst thing that ever happened to this country was the end of the Cold War. With the Cold War on, the right wing in this country had something to focus their anger and hatred on. Now they focus their anger and hatred on things like abortion, same sex marriage and other social issues, making life difficult for all of us in this country.

Saw some 60 Minutes report awhile back where, apparently, we created the Stuxnet worm to fight Iran, so there's that.

Funny note there--apparently, there's some code buried deep in Stuxnet that references that show Dexter. Guess the coders are fans.

The Chinese might want some of this after all. They want to build a statue of Stephon Marbury.

It appears playing his basketball halfway around the world has done wonders for Stephon Marbury's popularity.

He didn't win one playoff game in New York and got run out of town. But after winning one lousy title in China, they want to build a statue in his honor.

The Brooklyn product and former Lincoln H.S. star recently led the Beijing Ducks to a 4-1 series win over defending champion Guangdong Hongyuan in the Chinese Basketball Association playoffs. It was the first-ever CBA championship for the Ducks and Marbury was the driving force behind the title.

The former NBA All-Star averaged 33.4 points and 6.2 assists in the final series - including a 41-point performance in the fifth and deciding game - but wasn't named MVP. Foreign-born players aren't eligible to win either regular-season or postseason MVP awards in the CBA.

So what's the next best thing to a shiny MVP trophy? A bronze statue of course.

I don't know what to think of them. Yeltsin seemed to want warmer relations with the US, but Putin is punk ass bitch! I read a scary article today about how some war games scenarios with Iran have us fighting Russian troops. Remember they still have nukes pointed at us.

Russia has been massing some troops on the Iranian boarder to protect their interests. It could get interesting if tensions between Israel and Iran continue to increase.

Scary is more like it. I don't trust the Iranians further than I can spit, and the people of that country need to overthrow the assahollas who run it. But I don't want a war with Iran. Unless you like the prospect of $10/gallon gas, neither should anyone else.
