Some inside scoop

I don'[t know how many of you guys are on the Scout Fighting Gators site anymore but Bill went out to dinner last night with Jason Higdon who is I guess one of the mods or "owners" of the site. He's sort of become friends with him through the site, seeing him at HS games, and getting him and his family into Disney every once in a while.

Also, as you all may know Bill has been a big Driskel fan since his years in HS. Anyway, I asked Bill what the deal is with Driskel and supposedly he's just not Weis' guy. Weis brought in Brissett and that is who he wants to groom to follow Brantley. I guess during the spring Driskel getting there early didn't help him out at all because Weis had to spend the majority of his time working on Brantley and getting his head straight...Driskel got very little help or coaching in the spring as was evident in the spring game when he only got into the game in the second half. Once Brissett got on campus in the summer, Weis shifted his focus a little off Brantley to coach Brissett.

Frustrating because it's evident Driskel has a LOT of talent and potential but as we all know without coaching or support from the staff, what chance has he got? Also, there's hope for him in that Weis may be fielding calls from the NFL again, so there's a chance he may not be there next year. Certain rumors are that Muschamp and Weis may not really agree on this QB situation as well, but that was just a rumor.

IN any case, I think it's pretty obvious there is a massive amount of coaching problems. One can only hope we can get it turned around for next year, but I'm not holding my breath.

All of the above you can take or leave...just thought I'd share.
Okay, let's try this!

Thanks for the scoop. I wouldn't be surprised if Weis left. Considering that SOS won the SEC with an empty cupboard, I am not impressed with Weis.

I forgot to add, that if Driskel had just made that one pass during the Auburn game or a few others, he might have made it a no-brainer and forced Weis to use him...not trying to make excuses for Driskel...just wanted to point that out.

I personally wasn't that impressed by what we saw from either of the backup QB's. Brisset seemed to be a better passer where Driskel was the better running QB.

I would have to agree with this. Neither one impressed me.

Well, I saw quite a bit of Driskel in HS and he was a much better passes than he has shown at UF and I just wonder how much of that has to do with he lack of attention he's getting from the coaching staff. He looked better than Tebow in HS and had MUCH less better players around him then too.

Hell, Brantley was impressive in HS too and he's gotten a ton of attention from this staff. :(
