Are they gonna play, or is there a lockout?

Out here on my quiet, empty island, I am ready, yes, for some football.

Looks like Texas A&M is trying to get into the SEC...but until the Big 12 lets them go, the SEC can't do it. Not to mention they probably would like to have one from the east join too in order to keep it even...VT? Virginia? Someone has even mentioned Maryland.
Okay, let's try this!

Not much out there since all the practices are closed. From everything I've read we could have a pretty solid team this year. I saw some Vegas odds that had us Over/Under on wins at 7.5. I'd play the over all day long.

This team contended for a national championship in 2009. Last year's disaster -- which I'm prone to lay at the feet of abominable coaching and a failure of leadership -- doesn't erase all the talent on the roster. We'll probably lose a game we don't anticipate this year -- we always do -- but we're gonna beat the shit out of one of those teams in the West, Bama or Auburn or LSU, and make it look easy. Maybe two of them.

I really think this team could win the SEC-E. Doubt they are NC contenders though considering how thin we are @ several positions.

I think we're an 8-9 win team. We're not going to be world-beaters, but I think Brantley's going to have the opportunity to show what he can do in a pro-style offense.

If the defensive line can get some pressure with the front four then I think we could be successful. That is something that we couldn't do last year.

Let me tell you, this A&M story is all over the place here in Austin. The main point of contention is that Texas has joined with ESPN to create the Longhorn Network, and every other Big 12 team is angry about this. You have to understand A&M and I do since I live out here - they feel like they are the little brother to UT and their whole focus is on everythign UT does. They could lose every game and if they beat UT it would be considered a great season. There is a definite mentality here that I can't really explain. I did work for the A&M system for 7 years when I worked for the state- living in Austin and working for A&M. Good conversation starter.

I think it would be a bad move for A&M because they would lose their traditional in-state rivalries, and they would have their asses handed to them weekly by the SEC West. I do not see this happening, mainly because the politicans in Texas wouldn't let it. If A&M leaves, I will be shocked!

Agreed. The potential losses are LSU, AU, Bama and South Carolina. Not saying we will lose those games, just have the potential to. Note that I will not give FSU a shot in The Swamp!

Any word on how the offense is looking?

offense is doing well from what I've heard. Much will depend on injuries along the OL. If we don't have any we should be competitive and have

A&M sounds like FSU and UT would be UF.

Good and correct analogy
