He hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire. Sure, he does consistently well but where's the upside? Why didn't he accept the job before? The Big 12 isn't as strong as the SEC and he has consistently been Mack Browns bitch.

I personally don't want Stoops.
I've never met a retarded person who wasn't smiling.

Actually, no he isn't. He has a better record vs Mack and has more Big 12 titles than Mack.He hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire. Sure, he does consistently well but where's the upside? I don't know if I would be disappointed, but more surprised. Texas will be down for a couple of years and OU will own whatever is left of the Big 12 for a few years.
Stoops kind of seems like yesterday's news to me. Petersen from Boise State would be exciting IMHO. I also like Harbaugh from Stanford - look at what he has done there.

Maybe just recently and I'm feeling melodramatic but it seems like Stoops chokes in big games too much. I completely agreed that others would be more exciting. He certainly hasn't been as good as Meyer (not that anyone has).

No, you are not the only one. Joey and I fondly refer to him as "Big Game Bob," because he chokes in big games. Personally (and this is just me), the only person who would satisfy me 100% is Chris Petersen.

Would be satisfied with Stoops but I'd rather have someone that has an offensive mind and is young and hungry to make his mark.

Agree with Todd and Allison.

BTW, is it just me, or does anyone else feel like Charlie Brown dealing with Lucy when it comes to Stoops?
