OK, this may be a stupid question, but I don't know the answer, and I think some of you here have more info on this than I do.
How much say do the Bull Gators and big money Boosters have in UF Athletic Dept decisions? A friend of mine who is a realtor in Gainesville and is very well connected into UF and the Athletic Dept, said there were rumors of boosters buying out Meyer's contract. While I don't think they would do that over 1 bad season, it has been done before at other schools - see Jeff Bowden for example. Heck, the F$U boosters played a role in getting rid of Bobby as well.
How much pull do these people have here at UF? Does anyone here have real info on this?

If the devil had a name, it'd be Chuck Finley.

Lots of pull. But buying out Meyer's contract at this point makes very little sense. I don't buy it.

Sorry - let me rephrase. Urban's "retirement" was to cover a buy out of his contract by the boosters. And I don't buy that either.

My dad is a Bull Gator. As individuals they don't have a lot of pull, except for maybe getting more tickets or something like that. Now the big money people with names on stadiums and stuff like that, they probably have some pull.

Dude won two national championships in less than a decade. That rumor doesn't make sense after one bad season, especially since he almost retired last season.

That said, I'm not, nor am I close to, a BG.
