in all seriousness - he plays down his teams abilities...that way, if they win, he's outperformed his expectations (credit to coaching)...if they lose, they're expectations are low so no harm, no foul....savvy....but i hate the continued "talking-down-talk"

If I say anything bad about this man, it's as if I'm criticizing my father-in-law who still considers him a close friend. And they think the exact same way.
Okay, let's try this!

How many titles do you think we'd have if he were still here? I think we're still at one because he didn't recruit like you have to these days.

exactly what I think too. I felt he kind of lost his competitive edge somewhat and his play calling became stale and predictable as well as his recruiting slack. He has to have assistants that recruit.

Agreed. I was glad that they didn't hire him to replace Zook. He jumped the shark the day we took the field without Danny Wuerffel.

I hope that doesn't happen to Urban in the post-Tebow era.

I think this will be a good year for him. He scares me. Met him a few times. Met his wife also. She is very nice, while he was not so friendly, until he remembered who my dad was (Dad was alive at the time).

I'm afraid that he might do it to us again this year. But, I'm ALWAYS afraid that he will beat us, so this makes me respect him all the more.

There have been times when I've thought that he is truly a football genius.

I bet he would be loving life to have a kid like JB as his QB.

We had such a great team with Grossman during his last year. Shame we didn't make the title game; I think that team had the potential to win it all.

But I agree, he's never been all that into recruiting, and he just wouldn't have had the same competitive fire that he did in his heyday.

Still, I remember his reign fondly. It was a lot of fun running up the score against most opponents, and in a juvenile way I enjoyed it when he took potshots against the Vols, Noles and Dawgs.

Agree completely. That 2001 team could have won it all.

I also enjoyed the way he got into opponents head, like the way he owned Phat Fill at UT. And one thing I really liked that he did that Urban does not do - if we got the ball back with a minutes left in the half, he would throw towards the end zone to try to score again. Urban takes a knee and it drives me nuts! I call that Prevent Offense.

All I have to say is that I hope that I look as good as he does when I am 66.
