Seriously folks...we can chastize CEO's for collecting large sums of money from stockholders and board members (who by the way volunarily give up their money) but then allow gov't officials to collect large sums of money (at the expense of taxpayers...and need I remind you, this is not voluntary contributions...you don't pay taxes you go to jail).
Those of you who think the gov't officials are any less corrupt than CEO's of corporations are fooling themselves. If we don't get involved with our local city gov'ts and pay attention, they will screw us without our knowledge any chance they can get.

Talk about a f'd up local gov't.
Still trust gov't more than Corporations?

Let's not forget the basic difference between businessmen and politicians, either: businessmen often get into business as a way to make a profit because they think they can (more) efficiently provide a good/service the market wants while politicians often get into politics because they think they can (more) efficiently point a gun at people using the legal authority bestowed upon them to socially engineer society using "legal" force.
I've never met a retarded person who wasn't smiling.

It's important to note that the majority of the city's population is Hispanic and the vote to increase the salaries was shoved in other "hard to understand" legislation changes for them to vote on. And how many voted? Around 400. Gee, I wonder why these gov't jerks are so interested in letting in every illegal in the world into their town. We can get them to vote on anything just by making it unclear...IF they show up to vote that is.
Reminder too: Business that pull this crap either have executives go to jail or at best are put out of business. And if they aren't there is likely a gov't official taking a little cut of the profits to make sure they avoid investigations.
Wake up people!
