Definitely good hanging out and meeting Queenie and the rest. I ended up Sunday heading down to a waterside bar in Treasure Island, so I would have been too whipped to go out that night as it was.

New polls out now: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/polls?pol ... 2007-09-02

Michigan dropped like a rock, right on out of the poll.

no mention of notre dame.

some knuckle-head domer in the office shouted that he thinks he'll STILL be in a bowl with a 7-5 record...i asked him if he'd be happy if they finish .500 - lol

that's when he said 100 bucks says they finish .500 - i smacked him so hard on that bet that others wanted to do more...he did 2 other people than said he'd had enough...lmao, there were at least 3 others more that wanted action and claim to have even given odds... lmao!!!

Shoot, can I get in on that bet too? Here's Notre Dame's schedule:

Sat, Sep 1 Georgia Tech L 3-33 --
Sat, Sep 8 at (17) Penn State 6:00 pm --
Sat, Sep 15 at (5) Michigan 3:30 pm --
Sat, Sep 22 Michigan State 3:30 pm --
Sat, Sep 29 at Purdue TBA --
Sat, Oct 6 at (14) UCLA 8:00 pm --
Sat, Oct 13 Boston College 3:30 pm --
Sat, Oct 20 (1) USC 3:30 pm --
Sat, Nov 3 Navy 2:30 pm --
Sat, Nov 10 Air Force 2:30 pm --
Sat, Nov 17 Duke 2:30 pm --
Sat, Nov 24 at Stanford 3:30 pm

Looking at that, I'd say the only sure wins they have are Navy, Air Force, Duke, and maybe Stanford. And some of those losses could be ugly. I think Michigan is going to want to destroy them to get over the App State hang over in two weeks.

.500 is wholy possible for the domers this season. their schedule is loaded with cake sprinkled with marginal teams and then a few automatic losses.

Notre Dame will lose to GT (obviously), Penn State, Michigan, Mich. St, UCLA, BC, and USC...that's already 7 losses.

They could lose to purdue, though doubtful and I do think they lose to Navy.

I think the domers go 4-8 this year. They go .500 if they're lucky.

Screw the AP, at least the Big Blue got some votes with the coaches. I guess we are going to go out and beat Louisville to get some respect

c'mon Joe...you want a team that hasn't had a decent team lately to get respect based on hype and a win over Eastern Kentucky???

You're right, if you want respect, you MUST beat Louisville.

Also I would think UK would get some respect based on the 8-5 record last year, bowl game win and the fact that 17 out of 22 starters came back. UK was 3rd in the East last year. I mean TCU and Hawaii? If you want to talk first game cupcake and easy schedule in general look at June Jones team out there on the island

Hawaii is always fun to watch but I would like to see how they would do against a top tier Pac 10 school or an SEC school. I think it would be interesting to see the Run N Shoot against a decent defense.

We've got them on the schedule in some year coming up. Might even be next year.
