⚡ACHTUNG!⚡ Office / Work BS

3rd thread started ever.

It is kinda frustrating when a plant manager in some Midwestern state emails you after hours and on the weekends to update you on something, not necessarily because they want you to know they are working off hours and dedicated, or really concerned w you being updated, but because they know you and the CEO are tight and you might mention it. And I kinda like most these people cause they are hard working, it's probably just me, but you couldn't have just emailed me a few hours ago, nothing has changed since then. Just got one of those giving me an update, I'm like, let me drink in peace watch jeopardy.

There's always "that guy" in an office.

Well, not me since there are now only 4 of us and it's fucking awesome. I do have my phone programmed to go silent at 9:30pm though, my boss will send messages on Teams at 2am, sometimes we work very different hours  But our communication is 7 days a week, which is no big deal for my situation.

Working from home is the best ever.

It took me a LONG time to learn this, but unless I know something big is happening, I don't check my work phone or email on the weekend or vacation. There is rarely anything important enough to interrupt my home life. My boss and my staff have my personal cell phone number - if there's an emergency, they can reach me.

Every time I leave town, I tell them I'm out of service. Now a lot of the time it's true, I go into areas with no signal at all. Sometimes I'm camping and just not wasting battery life by using my phone much. But regardless of the circumstance, I'm always 100% unavailable to them if I'm not at home. Don't even ask me a question because I won't see it.
