Yeah, the entire controversy, mixed feelings. I knew the reason was revenue as clubs like boy scouts were dying and ultimately, keeping it alive is a net good thing.
And girl scouts is largely nothing but selling cookies, preparing to sell cookies, and doing arts and crafts. Even the camping trip my kid took with girl scouts, they stayed in cabins and did crafts inside. WTF was the point of that camping trip? Learn to build a fire at least. Ok, they were 10-11 year old girls then, so I don't mean a bow drill, but at least how to start with tinder, then kindling, don't smother it, etc. But I was teaching her that stuff before that age. By then she was building her own fires in the yard when we were outside. In the 6 months we did GS, not one time did they do anything interesting or useful. And yeah, I realize each individual troop is responsible for that stuff, but damn...
The female leaders, I definitely see as being a problem. Lesbos/dykes or a good sport who got involved because the husband wanted her to? I bet the scouts, if they exist in a rural community, would kick ass. Redneck scouts would be gutting deer
