The Tom Petty pride is kind of a weird one. His music was great, absolutely. He was definitely an odd duck in high school, but as a performer....the dude didn't really like Gainesville, he almost never performed here. Actually, having an sense of pride over a famous person being from the same place as you is kind of weird to begin with.

Obviously that doesn't apply to you, you're not from here. But I've seen it a lot around here.

Yeah, I like his music and everything and I even saw him play a concert in Gainesville, but I get the impression that he was happy to leave and never looked back.
 
I like the tribute between the third and fourth quarter but they need to cut it down to :30, playing it the whole break is awkward. The new light show is pretty cool though.

He was cool with Gville until he came home for his mom's funeral. Fans wouldn't leave him alone and made it miserable. That's when he said "F it".
