⚡ACHTUNG!⚡ Black “Friday” week

Only thing I’m looking for is a sound system for my truck. Probably going to let Best Buy do that.
It's not all that hard to do yourself. I did a couple different systems as a teenager. Subs, amp, new stereo. Depending on how difficult the particular truck is to take pieces off to run wires.

I don't do black Friday shit. I buy stuff as I need it all year.

And my kids are all grown now so I am not spending $1000 on toys and shit.

Generally things I want, but don't need, I start adding to the BF list in July or August. Most of what I was going to buy, I already had on my list or bookmarked. I'll wait a little to save on what amounted to least $500.

It also makes me feel better about how much I'm spending on some things. Sure, I had no problem spending $250 on ammo last night, but it's hard for me to spend $250 on new bed sheets. But $125 for those sheets.....I can do that

The benefit of being older and having a little money. Feeling lazy? Fuck it, let it be someone else's headache

Yup. The installer, at Best Buy, had a car audio shop before covid. It died during that time. He has like 20-25 years experience installing.

Have made the decision to install the system myself. Went to a couple of local shops and the cheapest system, w/install, is $2500.

Told them I just want an upgrade and a little more bass, nothing crazy. Fuckers were trying to get me to buy JL Audio and JBL equipment. I took their estimates and left. Estimates are now in the trash.

I can buy the electronics from Best Buy for under $1000 and an install kit from Crutchfield for $125.

Holy shit...$2500 is absurd. Guess prices have really jacked up. When I was a teen, a grand would get you a couple 12" Kickers, amp and an install kit. ....Pause to Google. It still does. Man they're really trying to rape people. A grand in equipment and that shit will thump hard from a mile away, far more than you're going for I'm sure

They were talking about keeping my truck for 2 days, just for an upgrade. Not running new speaker wires and shit. The sub was going to be one of those under seat, amp built in units. Only takes like 2 wires for that.

I've done full systems in an afternoon... when I was in my teens/early 20's.

I'm going to take a day off, when my pto rolls over, and install it.

Installed the stereo system yesterday. Might have a made a mistake. I put the sub under my seat (truck electronics under the passenger seat)… and it vibrates my damn seat to the point of distraction.

Might move it to under the rear seat, if it’ll fit.

oh yeah dude, under the back seat

Getting that ass massage while driving would get distracting. Wife fighting you for it yet?

Not yet.

Went to a drive in theater last night and the sound was quite nice. The thunder sounds scared our dogs.
