Didn't you call this in another thread, rad? Yesterday?
Now ESPN is reporting that there is a problem in Tebow's contract, and the Jets might have to pay some money to acquire him, more than the 4th and 7th round picks. Now there is talk of St. Louis getting Tebow....playing behind Sam Bradford?
And the waiting continues. I really wanted him to come to Jax.

i think we get tebow on the cheap so in that regard, i am happy from a relative value standpoint...but i don't necessarily think we get better because NY fans are so fickle...it's only going to take half a game before fans start asking for tebow to start...and that won't be good for sanchez...the fans are lukewarm on him to beginwith...it's gonna get ugly for him soon.
having said that - i think sanchez is a better qb than tebow...we can debate it but that's what i think...i'm thrilled for the organization in that they get a great spokesman for the team...gonna sell lots of jerseys...not necessarily going to sell lots of seats though...there's a buzz again in ny

Problem is in the contract with Denver. Someone has to pay 5 million, and Jets and Broncos are hashing this out now. From ESPN, Jags did not want to pay the 5 million, so they backed out. I'm sure there are some very unhappy Jag fans over this one. Including me.
In some ways, I wish he could stay in Denver and learn from Peyton. Why can't Denver use Tebow as the Wildcat QB like the Jets might use him? Peyton does not need to bang heads on short yardage, etc. and Tebow could do that plus more. Defenders wouldn't know if Tebow would go straight up the middle on short yard plays, or go left, right or throw a jump pass up the middle, plus more. I could see a two qb system working. Can't that really confuse a defense? If the offensive line and others can handle it? And I can see the fans being happy with both QBs playing. Both are so popular. Just thinking....
On the other hand, Tebow needs to move away from Elway.

ESPN just reporting.....Jax is back in the mix. They backed out this morning, but now they are trying to get him.
Keeping fingers crossed for Jacksonville.
ESPN played some sound bites of Jets fans concerning Tebow. Most were not happy about it all.

Does Jacksonville have the money for Tebow? I know they let whats-his-name go last year and freed up some cash, but will it be enough? They got a first-round QB pick last year and earlier this month gave Chad Henne a $3 million signing bonus. Seems like an awful lot of effort and cash to throw at one position.

They have Gabbert and Henne, but TT would bring in so much money with all the jersey sales, hype, ticket sales, etc. It would definitely fire up a lot of interest in the Jax Jaguars. I've never been to a Jag game, but I'm sure I would be going if Tebow is on the team. I have a few friends who feel the same, and I'm sure many of the Gator Nation would be super psyched if TT came back home.
I'm not sure they have enough money now, but they would sure make more if he could play there.
Geeze....I would LOVE it!!!

Jets have to back out due to some language in TT contract...same reason Jax couldn't get him....St Louis still in it for him....

Tebow trade to the Jets is a done deal, I guess. It's 12:10am Thur morn now, and Adam Schefter of espn tweeted this about 49 min ago....
"Adam Schefter
@AdamSchefter
Following
Jaguars offered Broncos a 4th-rd pick and were willing to pay Denver most, if not all of, $5 million in question on Tim Tebow's contract."
I guess we will hear more about this too. Why didn't Denver take this deal? Did Tebow really chose the Jets?
Really makes me sad reading all the neg comments from Jets fans. There are a few positive ones, but wow.....tuff stuff.

It seems that Denver did let Tebow have a voice about his trade, and he went with the Jets, even though Jax offered a better trade deal. I guess I need to take back some of my neg thoughts about Denver.
I think it came down to the coaches and what each team offered TT. I guess he feels that the Jets coaches are more willing to use him in situations sooner. At least, that's what Adam Schefter from espn offered as a reason for the Jets choice.
It's going to be interesting, that's for sure. And yes, I'm disappointed.

I heard some of Tim's conference call with reporters that he made last night. He was asked if he had input on the decision of where he was going, or something like that. He said, "That's a very good question. No....Denver had all the power but they were gracious...etc ......" His answer was something like that. Then espn played a sound bite of Elway saying that Tebow had input as to his choice, etc. It is all very confusing, and I think those of us on the outside will never know all the things that happened.
Maybe we will find out about things in 40 years while watching a documentary about TT. Which reminds me, did any of ya'll see the HBO doc about Joe Namath? It is excellent and I highly recommend it.
Why do I care so much about this young man? I feel like an old protective mother about him. I want to punch people that say unkind things about him.
On the other hand, I know he can handle the criticism, as he has handled it well in the past.

All of my info is from espn radio or tv, so take that into consideration.
This morn on espn, they have played the sound bites of Tebow saying he didn't have any input, and Elway saying Tim did have a say as to where he was going. They made a little "news" blurb about that, but then espn said, "Let's move on".
I take Tebow's word on this one, for sure.
Do ya'll remember Fox's (and where is he?) post a long time ago about Tim being at a bar, and Tim saying something like "You look like Tim Tebow and you get all the girls (whores) etc.? I had just had dinner with a gal who said her friend's son looked just like TT, was as big as TT, etc. and this kid was also a student at UF. I'm sure that person that Fox saw must have been her friend's son.
One of my best friends when I was growing up lives in Jax, and her kids grew up with the Tebow kids, all attending the same church. She and her husband are personal friends of the Tebows. My friend gave TT his pre-college test, as she works for the state.....testing home schoolers. She said all Tim cares about is football, when I asked her if he dated or had girlfriends. She said Bob Tebow was hard on his daughters (strict) when they were growing up, and she said she wouldn't be surprised if the Tebow's found or picked a wife for Tim.
I don't know why I've mentioned this stuff here. Just some trivia on my mind, I guess.
I really want the best for our Gator, TT. He has been such a polarizing figure of the Gator Nation/family.

PMC, I feel the same way. I'm a little annoyed with myself at how protective I am about him...I got four kids already! But TT is a big boy and I know he will make the best of where ever he is. Haters are gonna hate, and that's just how it is. He can handle it so why do I worry about it? Meh.
I know SO many Dolphin/Gator fans that are just sick about it. LOL

Tebow sayin he picked the jets because he had a clear shot at starting in ny as opposed to playing behind gabbert.
Do we still believe he wanted to come to jax?
