So, even though the game thoroughly sucked balls, I had a great time. We went to tailgate with my buddy's friend, and his mother and stepfather are huge boosters. Like, they're paying for stadium renovations and they fly down from Shreveport on a private jet huge. So we're going to tailgates and eating, drinking having fun, and right before the game the stepfather hands me and Josh passes to go up to their suite with them. Air conditioning, food galore, big screen, it was awesome. Then, I end up sitting next to and talking about the game with former all-Pro and former President of the NFLPA, Kevin Mawae. He was super nice and I even corrected him on college football. He told his daughter that LSU was going to run the clock down to the two-minute warning before half. I bumped him and said, "There's no two-minute warning in college." The mother and her sister gave me plenty of good natured ribbing, and I think I had more fun than my LSU buddy Josh. I went all Saturday eating like a pig, and I never even touched my wallet. It was a great experience, aside from the ass-whooping.

Wow, I'm jealous. I did NOT have nearly that much fun watching the game.

I have heard that the LSU fans are OK. I am in a networking meeting with an LSU grad who says that if you take a little grief in a good natured way, they will even invite you to tailgte with them.

Yeah. I enjoyed my one luxury-box experience high above Florida Field in the same extremely compartmentalized way. Miami 41, Florida 16. And missed the opportunity to strangle Carrot Top to death as we walked into the stadium. Sheesh. I think the football Gators had been 22-0 with me present until that day.

The ones near me were dicks. They were taunting and having pleasure in their team beating a seriously under manned opponent. I wondered if they taunt Vandy fans too. Not that we are Vandy but we have 72 scholorship players and are starting a QB that probably hasn't practiced that much football since last spring. I've had pleasant trips there even with an L but this wasn't one of them. I can see myself pulling for Bama on Nov 5th and I never pull for Bama.

I've been there 4 times, and each game it's a blast. I have more fun at that game than any other, including the Cocktail party and games in Gainesville. We stayed in the Hilton downtown, went to bars by the campus Friday evening (Chimes) and then bars by the hotel. A good ole'fashioned pub crawl. And because I was wearing a Gators shirt, people gave me a ribbing but bought me drinks. Which was nice.

Likey Kyle, I know a guy that puts on a helluva tailgate with a bartender and professional bbq guy. We actually have no relation to him, he's the uncle of an old roommate from college. So this time we went by the tailgate and asked for the guy, eventhough he didn't make the trip we were given wrist bands and welcome to the tailgate as honored guests. My buddy and I were like novelty items because we were the ONLY ones with Gators gear allowed. After the game we went back and ate a bunch more.

If you haven't gone to Baton Rouge, I highly suggest making the trip in '13. It's worth it.

Shit, me and my buddy almost went to Chimes Friday night. We ate dinner at Sammy's, but then I was too tired and just wanted to go back to the hotel.

I thought about going to Chimes but a LSU buddy brought a ton of oysters so we just chilled at the motorhome.
