Up 41-0 in the 2nd quarter and Urban challenges that it was a fumble. I fucking like it. Show the young players that we play balls to the wall, flat out, no matter the score.

^^^My husband thought it was lame. Oh well...this is the kind of game I can watch. No stress.

Letting the fumble go without challenging it sends a TERRIBLE message to the players. We're not good enough for guys to think they are allowed to let up the pressure. We need guys busting their ass in every way possible to get better and play their absolute hardest. If we were undefeated and beating everybody by 30-40 points, I could understand thinking it was lame. But we're not very good. When you're not very good you don't have the luxury of letting up, IMO.

LOL but maybe I'm just an asshole when it comes to such things :)

I like it because that player created the fumble. He did what he was supposed to do and because of Urban, he will get credit for creating the fumble. Now, if he came out and threw for the end zone, that would have been lame.

True. And Urban made a point of saying that he wants the kids to play their hardest while being respectful. It's a fine line but the first thing is to play as hard as you can play.

I'm sitting up here listening to the Terrapins try to hold on in Coral Gables. Cheering on an ACC game is sort of like betting on fighting crabs. But go Maryland anyway.

Betting on fighting crabs sounds fun as hell. As long as somebody's holding or there are bourbon shots to be had.

I really like Reed at QB.

Yeah. I still think Brantley starts next weekend but Reed is going to be playing a bunch. I'd like to see Reed start though. In fact, I think that Reed at this point has the inside track to be the starter next year. If I was Brantley, I'd look to go somewhere like Ga Southern.

I bet Brantley is kicking himself that he didn't go to So Carolina. He is a good player but just does not fit into our office...never has. Like Chris Leak only I think Brantley is better.

He simply isn't that good IMO. SOS would have benched him. I don't think he is a SEC caliber QB. Leak is a much better passer than Brantley at this point. Brantley has only succeeded at a HS that always wins, no matter who their QB is. I wanted him to be the man but it just doesn't look like he is. He over throws too many guys and doesn't pick up the blitz/read defenses well.

Sadly he really doesn't seem to be an accurate passer...I dunno if that's totally on him or the system or other players around him, but I rarely see him put a ball on a spot.

Todd...Bill pretty much said the same thing...I was just trying to be a little positive. But I truly think between Reed and Burton, we should be okay with just them the rest of the season. Then next year when we get that stud from Haggerty High here in Central FL, we'll be all set.

reed = cam newton...i'm really excited about the progress of reed and how he'll be utilized the rest of the year (and his career here)

i wrote it before and i'll say it again, lerentee mccray is a hoss...he laid out zac stacy and he's looking real good up at DE...why is he not playing LB is the real question

brantley is nowhere near as good as leak was in college....brantley's not as reliable as leak was with regards to putting the ball where it needed to be....i feel bad but the whole university has committed to brantley...wasn't he supposed to be a longhorn and didn't we snatch him up like last second on signing day? i have to admit, i'm pulling for brantley but the truth is (and i hate to admit it) is he looks to be the odd man out with the emergence of reed...reed LOOKS like he knows what he's doing back there...reed LOOKS like he knows what he wants to do back there...brantley checks down too early...he bails on his reads way to quickly...its like the offense is geared towards providing him safety valves and he takes it 80% of the time...he severely underthrew rainey in the endzone...he constantly overthrowing his targets...i'm noticing a quicker release as opposed to his pronounced, long throwing motion...i'm guessing the coaches are working on trying to make him more quicker? can anyone confirm this? if so, his accuracy and spiral have been considerably compromised as a result imo. his psyche as a leader has got to have taken a hit as well...maybe with the pressure off of him to be 'the man' or the pressure of him to be 'the man' to follow 'THE MAN' will ease knowing that there are options available to the offense with the emergence of reed...these points are deserved of its own thread imo.

yeah, I feel bad for Johnny. A great kid who waited for his chance behind a legend and isn't up to the task of leading the Florida Gators. I really wish him the best because I think he's good kid.
With Reed and Burton I see our offense and it looks like I think we all thought it would.

I'm not sure why JB's accuracy has gotten so bad and his reads are terrible. On the underthrown ball to Rainey for the TD he had someone else (didn't catch the number) running the post and had beaten his man by 5 yards at least. He was by far the better target on that play.
