Man I called this last year when we looked horrible and many others agreed. I think Lilah loves him as an OC though.

As I feared, lots of support from the players and Meyer for SA and the play calling in the last press conference. I don't understand the problem with admitting the fault and then addressing it. I can only hope the behind doors talk is much different.

When recruits are noticing the offense sucks, it's time to act.

Totally concur.

I just think it's extremely difficult to pin down whether the offense sucks due to play calling, poor execution, or lack of talent. I ain't makin' apologies for Addazio and I think it's a bad idea to have someone coach the OL and be the offensive coordinator...but I think we got beat by two better teams in the last two weeks in all honesty.

I believe we are better than LSU. I think we should be able to compete against if not beat Bama.

I guess we'd have to define what we meant by being "better". But to be honest I'm not even sure we have better pure talent. LSU has more guys who are ready for the NFL right now, which makes a big difference. Whether that's coaching or talent, it's very difficult to say--but it's the truth. LSU has prolly 3x as many NFL guys on their 2 deep right now.

Bama and LSU are good teams, no doubt, but statistically, we're like 96th in the nation offensively. Something's definitely wrong. Hell, we couldn't even move the ball against Miami of Ohio for three quarters of play.
Furthermore, last year's offense just didn't seem to be clicking the way it did under Mullen. I don't think Mullen's departure and the lack of offensive productivity are unrelated.
Not that Mullen was a genius, mind you, but he was competent.
What really bugs me about the whole situation is that Corch Meyers doesn't seem all that concerned about it. Maybe he's trying to be less intense this year due to his health issues, but there just doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency to correct it.

That is my biggest problem too. Unless they are hammering away at it behind the scenes, which I tend to doubt they are. It appears that we've contracted Volsheimers.

I agree with both of you - it seems like he doesn't have the fire anymore. Its evident in his Urban Meyer Show as well.

Well after watching the HS game last week with that beast we got Jeff Driskel (plays for Haggerty...one of Bill's schools...woot!), maybe that will light a spark in him. The kid is bigger and maybe even better than Tebow. Bill seems to think that even though Brantley is a good QB, Meyer shouldn't have recruited him...he is just not an option QB...it's like having Leak (although Brantley is decidedly better than Leak) all over again, excpet this time, Meyer did the recruiting.
I'm not ready to throw him under the bus or anything...we cannot possibly have championship seasons every single year...it's just very rare that that happens for more than 5 years in a row for any team.
Maybe we need to just be patient and chalk this year up to a building and growing year? I certainly still think an new offensive mind is needed on the coaching staff though.
