TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP)—Florida State held its first media day without Bobby Bowden in 34 years on Sunday. The retired coach was not forgotten.
New Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher said Bowden’s values and traditions have been retained even though some day-to-day operations have changed.
This is how you pray for a misdemeanor.
This is how you talk at halftime to football players whose names you can't remember.
This is how you choose a patty-cake conference.
This is how you wear a truss.
This is how you turn a top-ten recruiting class into a 7-6 team.

More good news...
one of their leading returning receivers (Jamar Fortson) has been dismissed from the team for "multiple violations of team rules"...in other words - multiple failed drug tests.
As you're all aware at this point...Nigel Carr, one of their projected starting LBs, was arrested on Burglary and theft charges. I know the prosecutor handling the case. Don't expect him to get stuck with a felony conviction. I'd look for Carr to get some significant county jail time (6 months), which will cause him to use his redshirt this year, followed by a deferred prosecution agreement. If he abides by the conditions set out in such agreement he will get a misdemeanor conviction. The sticking point for this would be the following: While the DPA is outstanding, the felony charges are still pending. I don't know if the DPA would be enough to satisfy the school's requirement of no felonies.
