It astounds me that 4 out of the 9 dissented. I mean, okay, fine, maybe the dissenters didn't agree with Heller. But Heller is the law of the land, and if you accept the ruling in Heller, you must also accept that the right to keep and bear arms is fundamental and therefore its prohibitions ought to be incorporated against the States. How can you logically find otherwise?

You can't expect SCOTUS to apply logic in any kind of consistent manner.

The SCOTUS is just another political arm. No longer sheltered from political heinousness by the law.
