Bobby Bowden wrapped himself Wednesday in a gold Florida State sweat shirt and garnet jacket, then pulled on his white cap adorned with the same logo and headed onto the Seminoles' practice field. Somehow, he didn't realize it was for the final time.

"Somehow."

I still think he got screwed. Rivalry aside, he and JoePa should be able to coach until they say they're done.

I agree. Again all rivalry aside, after all he did for FSU, he should not have been shown the door that way.

Agreed. I don't understand how getting rid of him changes anything. Hasn't Jimbo been essentially running the ship anyway? If anything it seems it will hurt them as they just lost their best recruiter. If I were in charge and they were trying to turn the program around I would keep Bobby and hire a better "coach in waiting" and give the new guys the freedom to run the program as he wishes. Bobby will just stand there and look like the figure head he is.

Eh, I can't put the rivalry aside. He and his teams broke my heart too many times during the SOS era. That being said, I wish they hadn't shown him the door, but only because they were sinking into mediocrity with him and the current staff.

No worries 95...Jimbo will keep them in mediocrity for many years to come! The only reason they got good in the 90's was becauser of UF's probation problems in the late 80's. They got all the good recruits. But now the good ones go to either UF or UM and FSU will get our sloppy seconds (with the exception of a good one here or there who will likely regret their choice anyway).

Rivalry aside, I hate the man and am looking forward to years and years of hearing his name less and less. :)
