Apparently Billy Gonzales is leaving to be the OC at LSU.
We have offered Tyrone Nix the DC position. He is currently the DC as Ole Miss. Rumors are the UGA is looking at him too and Miss has counter offered.

Hmmm...it seems Billy probably was a bit bummed to not get OC at UF...I think he would have been better than Addazio IMO. I thought they may even give it to him after this past seasons stuttering offense.

Apparently he is going to be their 'passing-game coordinator', what ever the hell that means.

It means he was one of the coaches referred to in Todd's Nanptha post. He more than likely was encouraged to go.

Zach Azzanni from Central Michigan is rumored to be his replacement.
CMU’s receiving corps was ranked No. 9 nationally by Athlon Sports in its 2009 season preview issue. CMU displayed remarkable depth at the receiver position in 2008. Six different receivers caught a touchdown pass, and five members of the receiving corps caught at least 15 passes. Former walk-on Joe Bockheim had his best season as a senior, posting career highs in receptions (35), receiving yards (491) and touchdowns (5).
“Zach is a tireless worker who has a knack for getting the most out of his players,” said head coach Butch Jones. “Our receivers will be fundamentally sound in all aspects of their game.”
Azzanni, a 1999 CMU graduate, had spent the previous six seasons at Bowling Green State University before returning to his alma mater. He coached the Falcons’ wide receivers from 2003-2006, mentoring a group that broke nearly every school receiving record.
Under Azzanni’s tutelage, Charles Sharon closed his career in 2005 as Bowling Green’s all-time leader in receptions (232), receiving yards (3,450) and touchdown receptions (34). In 2004, Azzanni coached a receiving corps that featured four players that posted at least 1,000 receiving yards and was ranked as the No. 3 wide receiver unit in the country by FoxSports.com. BGSU capped the season with a victory in the GMAC Bowl. The Falcons won a MAC West Division title and the Motor City Bowl in 2003, a season in which Cole Magner caught 99 passes for 1,138 yards and 10 touchdowns.

I think apex is right. BG may have been shown the door here. Might have known of players slacking off, maybe even going drinking on a Monday before the SECCG, and not brought it up to Meyer. Apparently there is more to come as far as coaching staff changes go.

Time to start the first uniform thread?
OK, I'm sure you all saw that there are rumors we keep the white helmets.

UPDATE: Looks like Billy Gonzales (LSU) and Charlie Strong (Louisville) are gone. One likely replacement for Gonzales is Central Michigan WR coach Zach Azzani.
We are also hearing there may be as many as two other coaching changes, but some of them are pending moves at other places. We are hearing that Vance Bedford could go to Louisville. Not sure how all of this impacts the staff, offensively or defensively, but we are also hearing that Steve Addazio's name is on the short list as a head coach in a couple of places. Stay tuned.
And stay cool. This is not Armageddon. Urban has some great names for replacements, we hear.
Earlier:
We've asked and confirmed through several sources that Billy Gonzales is the new offensive coordinator at LSU. We'll try to have more as quickly as we can.

Yeah, I'm not all too concerned...it's not like we have a program that is down in the dumps...we have FANTASTIC if not the best facilities, a great town to live in and a crapload of talent. I'm sure Urban has a 'waiting list' of coaches who want to come here.

Yea I trust Urban to bring in the best guys he can find and I bet they will have just that attitude slide (agree--amazing movie). I have the feeling that Urban never wants another season like this one.

agreed aa and it's amazing how 1 loss (2nd to last game at that) has brought about a comment that "urban never wants another season like this one'

I agree it is amazing rad but I think that says a lot about where our program is, the talent we have, and the expectations everyone has (and had) for our team. In plenty of other situations a 1 loss season would be glorious but it's all about context...when that 1 loss comes after a group of guys apparently gave up on the team...I can't even imagine how pissed and just plain distraught Urban must have been.

I can imagine - cause I was/am feeling the same thing.
There is no fucking excuse for us to lose that game. We have played liked shit all year, and finally got snakebit. It is inexcusable with the talent that we had to be in this position. All year long we have been hearing about how we didn't have the playmakers with Percy and Louis Murphy being gone. Bullshit! Now it seems that we know why we have been playing so poorly.
I hope Urban cleans house and gets rid of any player with poor attitudes!
