Goals #1 and #2 have been completed. The Gators are undefeated and we are back in Atlanta. I like the match up against Alabama. We beat them last year without Percy and with conservative offensive play calling and I know we can do it again.
1) The UF defense is better this year.
2) Mcelroy is not as good as JPW was last year. I mean, he only has two names so how good can he be.
3) Stop Ingram like Auburn did and force the Bammers to throw the ball.
4) Don't let Julio Jones beat us.
I like UF by 10 in a 24-13 type game.

Two words: Chris Rix.
Your score works for me.

i think we demoralize them early and don't look back...special teams play will have had an effect on this game to the tune of 14 points...a blocked punt, a returned punt/ko

I CAN'T WAIT FOR SATURDAY!
Everything I'm reading is pointing to UF really being ready. Some on GC are making it sound like that Urban has been setting up Alabama all year long and that we are going to show so many more wrinkles to the offense that we've been holding back all year. I want to believe it although I've read stuff like that in the past and it never happened.

That GC stuff is crazy.
I think we have a better coach and a better team. That should mean we win this game eight times out of ten.

i think momentum-wise, we are on our toes and bama is on their heels.
i also feel that UF will be a battle-tested 13-0 going into pasadena...the back end of this 13-0 run starting with ARK has been a hard grind (for the exception of FL intl of course) and well earned....Texas has ROLLED going into the Nebraska game and they will continue to roll going in the NC.
i point this out because there are many similarities to the 2005 where we were tested going in ready to battle the might buckeyes...if you recall, we were winning ugly to get in and tOSU were dominating their opponents not really getting tested....i see the UF/UT clash to be in the same sort of light...this is much anticipated obviously...many of the horns believe this matchup should have occurred last year when they got skunked by their conference anyways...so i see this to be a matchup that favors us because we've won in adverse situations...winning teams find ways...we have a new OC, we had a concussed QB, we had the heart and soul of the defense lost to injury/suspension, we had the #1 target on our back wire-to-wire, and we had a revived rivalry in Tenn.
just sayin that the other side can't really say they've got the same type of battle scars...i've often said that the true mark of a great fighter is not how heavy his hands were or how fast his punches are thrown or how rock hard his chin is...it's how he reacts after getting floored and how he deals with the adversities...tyson was a punk after he got knocked out by buster...UF has shown the mark of a true champ by going 12-0 (soon to be 13-0)...
can Texas say they've been floored at any point this year?

I would agree with radbag that the battle training favors us. Any winning result vs Alabama will be fine: Gators don't have to win with style. Would like to, but a 17-14 scratcher continues along the team's MO.
I also think that the disparity in conference-wide defense favors us.
Urban Meyer has shown that he can get the team focused on a big game. Can't fault game readiness in the last five years, can we? Prime example: Ginn returns the opening KO for six, then the Gators turn around and bust the Buckeyes for the next 59:45, mercilessly. No sweat. Coaching favors UF.

Living in Austin, I can tell you that Texas is over rated. I don't know all of the details of their season, but I don't think they have been tested as much as we have. Since I do a lot of networking in my business, I am going to take a lot of grief either way if we do play Texas, since there are many UT alums I deal with out here, obviously. I can tell you that Texas has not seen anything like us this year, and that the closest game they had was beating OU 16-13. They were flat the whole game.

I am sprung. We've been waiting for this game since January. I think we're going with the turkey enchiladas again: Mrs. Toothy has requested a second pan to take to a friend who just had her first kid, so the morning will be Toothy and Olive dancing in the kitchen to Led Zeppelin and frying tortillas in the pan.
Listened to Mike & Mike this morning on the way in to the office. One of them -- I don't really think much about who's who -- said that Brennan could get the Heisman as a make-up for last year. The other said that if Tebow plays a good game against Alabama, he'll get it as a career-accomplishment vote.

we (meaning the college football fan) can argue that we've been waiting for this matchup since last year since some out there think UT got jobbed.

Unphuckingbelievable! Worst phucking game I have seen them play since the Fiasco Bowl loss to Nebraska! I am so pissed off right now.
