Ugh...I hate the first quarter. I hope we get it together. The only competition I want to see in this game is who scores the most point...UF's offense or UF's defense.

Held to a field goal, but still...when does the smack down start?

I'm OK with the smackdown being us letting them think they had a chance to win for so much of the game. Wish the margin had been higher but I kinda like the fact that we toyed with their emotions, even if we didn't mean to.

I think that, by definition, is not a smackdown.
But look: the SEC is a tough league. The Gators are 1-0. The win streak vs. Tennessee continues. It wasn't Kiffin's head on a stick the way I wanted. But we talk about our aroused state -- no doubt the Vols came south with the same sense of mission. Probably played into their misstep against UCLA.
It was a comfortable win, and I'll take it.

Meh. We allowed them to dictate the tempo of the game and sucked us into playing their game. Overly conservative coaching that looked scared to take chances. Throw the freaking ball down the field!!!

werd todd.
* seemed liked they withheld targetting hernandez seemingly on purpose just to "unveil" him in massive quantities over the second half
* props to monte kiffins defense really...they were game and their front 7 outplayed our o-line
* is it me or has major wright dissappeared?
* tennessee DOESN'T have nearly as much talent as we do but their 'in game' management negated their weakness...they were definitely prepared to play this one
* was there a holding penalty or false start for the gators? i can't recall one...if this is so, i'm really, really pleased about that lil stat.
* jaye howard - play like you've been there
* i saw eric berry curse himself by mimicking the chomp after his INT...did he get trucked by tebow before or after his INT?
* who and where is jermaine cunningham????
* did nu'keese get any snaps?

Meyer said today that Cunningham played a little but was still getting over something. Demps was sick (had a fever) but played anyway. Spikes wasn't 100% either and didn't play the second half.
As far as Nu'keese, I asked Bill if he would play at the beginning of the game and he said probably not...he's not ALL THAT is just a little guy (at least for now). If he played, I didn't see him and he wasn't anywhere near the ball.

Skikes was not playing well before his injury anyways. Even last year he would disappear in some games.

Stamper had a hell of a game though.
