The AARP lady didn't know what to do...just because they didn't believe her and moaned and groaned...it was too much for her to handle. Try to make it through to about 5:30-6:00 minutes...I love that guy talking about liberty!

Our oligarchy of rulers is making a big mistake by ignoring these feelings of unrest throughout the citizenry. I fear that they will come to regret writing this all off as the product of 'right wing nutjobs'. And in the end, we will all pay dearly for their ignorance.
The whole sitch fucking sucks.

That freak show hit Tampa yesterday. Lots of screaming and yelling and emoting. Not sure what that behavior actually accomplishes.

I have to agree with you a bit there Josh. While I am concerned about these issues and think it's important for people to speak out if they disagree, they MUST keep it civil and polite. The Town Hall with Arlen Spector is a good example of how to remain calm, let the organizer have their say and then ask the tough questions when given the opportunity. It's just too easy to get labeled a nut job when you just shout the whole time. In the case of the video above, I think the organizers gave in a little early and this crowd wasn't exactly hostile. But I just saw footage of the one in Tampa that you speak of, and you're right...you're not going to get anywhere just shouting "you work for us".
Oh well...still trying to collect as much info as I can from my friends and family who have lived with a single-payer system. One of my friends who went up there a few years ago has a child with mild autism. She said she was very happy with the care she got for him. However, she had the same type stories of long waits, being put on waiting lists, etc. for the rest of her family care. She said if given the choice between the US system and the Canadian one, she would choose the US system.
But like rad said...I guess the philosophy is that the long waits are the price you pay so that everyone can get free health care. It's just not a price I particularly want to pay myself.

I wonder if Glenn Becky will foot the legal bills of these kooks he's encouraging to commit violence.

Maybe...i wonder if Al Gore will give back all the money he's made when and if the earth starts to cool again.

LOL.
Start a global panic of human caused global warming based on the CO2 generated by SUV's, etc. Start a carbon credit program to score huge loads of cash. Ignore the science that says temperature change leads increased CO2 in the atmosphere. Drop out of site on the issue when the latest data shows a general cooling of the earth for about the last 5 years.

I agree with you there. I just have one point of contention. It's not FREE health care. You pay for it with your taxes, and other's taxes. It will only be free to the people
who don't pay any taxes.

You're still going to have to explain to me what Al Gore has to do with these kooks out there screaming and yelling and assaulting people.

They aren't kooks. Your attempts to marginalize them won't work.

It doesn't...Ijust threw it out there on a whim. My husband brought home Krispy Kreme's and I'm a bit mental. Although i agree with 95's post. LOL

A1, please provide some proof for your wacky conspiracy theory that people are out there assaulting others over the health care debate.

Dood, there were six arrests in St Louis yesterday. Here in Tampa, violence broke out.
And no wonder--apparently the astroturf group started by Ralph Reed's old business partner, Americans for Prosperity, has been out comparing insurance reform to the Holocaust, Pol Pot, and Stalin. You've got Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Becky ranting and raving about Obama is Hitler. I mean, these people are so over the top insane.
Did you see the lady who was arrested earlier this week, with a car full of weapons as she was scouting a National Guard base that she thought was a FEMA concentration camp? All because Becky told her so. They're whipping up the lunatic fringe.

Arrests are proof of nothing. It means the police had probable cause to throw their weight around and use their toys--nothing more.

Just heard a black guy passing out Don't Tread on Me flyers (a black conservative...gasp) had the shit kicked out of him by some SEIU (I think that is the right initials...a union who are heavy Obama supporters). I wonder if Obama will say the SEIU acted "stupidly".

No the union gets reserved seating and special treatment. They contributed too much to his campaign (and will contribute too much to his reelection campaign) to have to deal with reality.

And you knew it wouldn't be the full on crazy unless Sarah Palin weighed in. She's now running around claiming Obama wants to set up "death panels" which would decide who lives and dies. What universe is this lunatic woman from? And you guys thought she would be a good person to be a heartbeat away from the presidency? WTF? I used to wonder if there was a lie big enough that conservatives wouldn't pass it along. After the Clinton "hit list," the invasion of Iraq, the looting of the Treasury by Wall Street, Sarah Palin, and now this crap, I guess I have my answer.

I love the double standards that the left loves to throw out there. Go nuts with the Joker-Obama BS, and yet completely laugh uproariously when the same sort of thing was done to W in Vanity Fair.
Bitch and moan about health care protesters and yet say "right on, sisters" to "Mother Sheehan" and "Code Pink" when THEY protest. That kind of thing is a-ok.
Bitch, whine and scream at W when he uses executive orders for his own purposes, yet say NOTHING when Obama does it.
CHaaaaaaaange.

Sarah Palin is a private citizen a1 and can say whatever she wants. And from what all the libs and pretty much everyone else in the world says...she's irrelevant...so why do you care what she says? She's not saying anything different than many others have (who I guess are also irrelevant).

Another fun one...it's not the health care bill per say...it's the fact that a lot of people don't feel their represenatives are listening to them or even considering their concerns...

It doesn't matter if she's irrelevant or otherwise. They want to end ALL dissent. They want the entire nation to shut up and quietly acquiesce to their demands.
