AIG announced layoffs and has agreed to pay these employees retention bonuses.

Senator Chris Dodd specifically exempted bonuses from caps and restrictions so that the company could retain employees so that the company could stay in business...which is the entire point of the bailout right? This is PART of the bailout/porkulus legislation.

These are employees who have been given notice that they have been fired. They are out the door. Period.

And now Chuckles Scumbag Schumer is threatening INDIVIDUAL AMERICANS with PUNITIVE LEGISLATION to tax these bonuses specifically at 100%. Where is the equal protection clause here???

they're called 'separation' or 'severance' packages or payments.

And now our wonderful administration is going to make our soldiers pay for their own health care insurance in order to pay for the injuries they sustained in combat.
