Welcome to the SEC, cheater. Signed, Ol' Ball Coach.

By Matt Hinton

Welcome to Tennessee, Lane Kiffin. Your grace period ended 12 hours ago:

South Carolina’s Steve Spurrier questioned whether new Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin broke an NCAA rule when he called a recruit a day before he was introduced as the Volunteers’ new coach.

OMFG this is priceless. Lane Kiffin, welcome to Steve Spurrier's world.

That's freakin' awesome that Spurdog is already after this guy before he's even made it through the first day on the job. And I love that Laney Poo made comments about how they're going to beat UF next season. Did he check to see where the game is going to be played before he said that? I guarantee you that Urban is going to save that quote and will try to run up the score on Laney Poo next year. No wonder he brought daddy with him--this idiot needs all the help he can get!

OMFG this is priceless. Lane Kiffin, welcome to Steve Spurrier's world.

Urban has a long memory - trust me, that stupid comment won't be forgotten.

Why do you think he took those 2 time outs in the Georgia game towards the end of the game? To gloat about the score. Richt and his thugs deserved it. I think we will win big next year, and Meyer may do the same thing with his time outs.

OMFG this is priceless. Lane Kiffin, welcome to Steve Spurrier's world.

You know, Spurrier has built a program that is better than Tennessee's, and he wants to keep it that way. No harm in smacking the cage a bit.

i saw a clip of the presser but didn't hear the line regarding beating UF next year. he really had the balls to say that?
i could understand saying that he would want to improve recruiting, improve execution, play to their potential etc., but to call out UF on day one?!?!
personally i think ut screwed the pooch with this hire. i only wonder if he isn't the chump to follow the once beloved coach so they can take some more time to do a real search.

OMFG this is priceless. Lane Kiffin, welcome to Steve Spurrier's world.

He's no Ron Zook. I seriouly doubt he'll be the recruiting god that Zook was and that is what UT need's in order to restore their talent level.

I bet Tennessee sees their grizzled old pork store of a coach getting beat by all these younger, svelter, better-groomed cerebral types of fellows and they think, Damn, we gotta get us one of those, someone who's young and smart. Who's out of a job? We'll put up the photos and let the cheerleaders pick him.

OMFG this is priceless. Lane Kiffin, welcome to Steve Spurrier's world.

I thought the hire was laughable, but he can assemble a pretty good, and more experienced, staff. I have always thought Monte Kiffen deserved a head coaching job. I think that aspect will either work wonderfully or horribly. Ever tried working with family? It takes a special family to do that well, but it can be great.

Also, heard something about Orgeron being a position coach (sucked as head coach but damn good at position) and Callahan being on staff. Haven't looked into it though.

All that said, I can't wait to see Urban's gameday response.
