speaking of chappaquidick....did i tell y'all that when we visited martha's vineyard this past summer, one of the 'old timers' from the area had told us that ted swam the channel back to the mainland (about 200 yards) after the accident, rented out a room at a bed and breakfast in town...slept off his buzz and called his lawyer the next morning.

Apparently, he ran a really good campaign. He used Alaskans disdain for the lower 48 as leverage in his ad's. Very much of a "look what they are doing to him in Washington" kind of a thing. Brilliant.

Sen. Stevens is scum and should be run out on a rail. I guess it's okay to be a crook as long as he's OUR crook.

Hopefully when they finish counting the ballots it will be a moot point.
