I hate these things. I hope he can rehab it in and get back to full speed for the NFL.

if he really needed to or wanted to he could get a medical RS...but I doubt he will.

^^It might benefit him. He can get it fixed and spend a year doing rehab. Then play a full year next year and go to the NFL the year after.

Hell, sometimes these knee injuries mean they are out 4-6 weeks. Do they know how bad it is? Is it a full tear?

I can't get on either of the sites right now while I'm at work to find out. I can possibly check at lunch.

From HB: Ingram has a strained knee and doesn't Meyer know the severity yet after an MRI. Meyer didn't seem too concerned.

NYGator1991 just said he heard from a source that it's an ACL and he's out for the season.

not sounding good, most likely out for year.

however, we still have tate casey, and although he's a marked drop-off from CI, casey is still a quality talent that will allow us to run most of the packages that CI would have ran. CI still wasn't a great blocking TE and used mostly as a big receiver, hopefully tate casey can show us why he was so highly regarded out of high school and showed so much promise his frosh and soph years.

Urap,

Don't forget about Aaron Hernandez. He is going to be a beast.

Could he? I thought you could only petition for a 6th year if you missed two due to injury...to my knowledge, this will be the first time he's been sidelined with an injury.

i'm not. aaron hernandez would be a bigger loss in my opinion. but for the second TE/split end slot we have tate casey. we also have a bevy of big receivers to keep the line backers honest if we line them up in the split end position. perhaps carl moore will move inside the slot receiver for a few different looks.

Bubba got one and I believe he only missed the one season. Ditto Phil Trautwein.

Caldwell was only here for five years and redshirted once...the same will be true for Trautwein. CI's situation is completely different...he'd be petitioning for a 6th year.

"I just talked to a former player who told me that a current player phoned him and said that Cornelius Ingram is out for the season. He wouldn't say what the injury is or specifically who told him, but he did say that C.I. had his MRI and that Urban called an emergency team meeting and announced this devastating news to the squad. Obviously, we all hope this is not true, and I am still in denial until i hear something straight from the horse's mouth. I just wanted to relay the message. I, like all of you, am keeping my fingers crossed."

I still don't think you have to be injured twice.

I'll look up the rule when I'm somewhere that doesn't block the NCAA website.

I don't remember running that many two TE sets in the last few years. I could be wrong though.

It was a set that Meyer talked about them putting in for this year.

meyer was talking a lot about a two TE set, not just in the traditional formation, but AH anc CI could both play multiple positions, therefore you could have a possibility of 4 diffrent formations with the same personnel and depending what the defenses does (extra linebacker or strong safety), that would dictate the formation used.

I can't think of a single instance where a player, having never missed a season due to injury, has been granted a 6th year of eligibility after suffering a season-ending injury. It just doesn't happen...you can look it up, but I'm 99.5 % certain that I'm right.

CI was gonna exploit coverages anyways as a slot guy in the offense...looks like that gameplan goes out the window cause i don't see hernandez exploiting anyone...this may be good though for moody cause hernandez is more of a blocker isn't he? i mean, i recall hernandez contributing as more of a run blocker/3rd and 4th option all year last year.

good thing we have depth.
