I have this code from a web site and I can't get it to load here. This is the code....

I've tried all the tabs here and I can't get it to show up. Can you show me how to make this work? Thanks!!

Is this what your were looking for Pam?

All I did was post it like you would a video from Youtube.

I used the Flash button with the dimensions of 384,304 and then used the URL of http://www.paltalk.com/marketing/media/vanksen/main.swf

So you took out all that other stuff? I almost had it one time, and I just didn't know to cut out all that stuff.

I tried the "code" tab, the flash tab, the url tab. I didn't try the YouTube tab. :-)

You have to give it some time to load before it'll play. I was able to make it play. Try posting it in here and maybe I can see what you might be doing wrong.

I still couldn't get it to play with the one you posted. The arrows are kinda grayed out. I still need some of the code because I need the name to show. Here is the new code I'd like to show.

The youtube tab gets me almost there.

The site says to copy the code to put on a message board, etc.

Oh well....fahgetaboutit.

just do the flash and then the http:// part of the code. You don't need all that other code junk in there.

Sorry about all the trouble. Once we switch to the new software, it'll be a lot easier to do these things.

You see, the problem is that phpBB does not allow HTML tags at all, for security reasons. I'm not sure about all the technical details, but that's just the way it is.

All those embed codes are HTML, so you can't just cut-and-paste into the board software. So phpBB came up with the "Flash" button that supposedly lets you embed some kind of flash application, but as you can see, it doesn't work with all these flash-based video sites that have popped up since YouTube became popular.

The new forum software that I'm pretty sure I want to switch to has a mod that will allow you to simply cut-and-paste the URL of the video you want and it'll automatically embed the video.

The video I wanted to post...I found out it is old news anyway. It's probably a good thing that it didn't work!

Gotcha. I see. I didn't understand it wasn't just a video, it was something custom with variables in the code.
