As long as their recipe/price doesn't change for Natural Light or Bud Heavy, I'm ok with it, I guess.

Surely y'all have read that it is done.

I'd note that the biggest American-owned brewer is now either Sam Adams or Yuengling, according to how you define "biggest." (Sam Adams is actually brewed under contract by several other companies; Pabst, nominally the nation's fourth-biggest brewery, does not brew any beer at all. It is a branding company marketing beer that is brewed entirely by Miller.)

I know several people who won't drink Bud now.

Really? I can't imagine not using a product I liked for that reason. Different strokes I guess.

I don't care for megabrew, but if I get stuck in one of those no-interesting-beers situations (Waitress: We got Bud, Bud Light, MGD, Miller Lite, Coors Lite, Heineken, Corona, and Amstel Light), I get Bud 100% of the time. It actually is fresher beer -- Anheuser-Busch has the tech advantage over other breweries.

If you gotta drink the swill, might as well have the new swill.

Amstel Light isn't interesting. It's disgusting. At least every time I've tried it, it's been terrible.

I'll drink Amstel if I'm between Amstel, Heineken, and Corona....but I'll probably take Bud over it...depends on my mood I guess. Bud over Coors over Miller.

Update on this story and it's not a good one.

Anheuser-Busch Cos Inc on Tuesday said it approved an enhanced employee buyout program that it expects will reduce its salaried work force 10 percent to 15 percent.

The revised program will provide enhanced pension and retiree medical benefits, as well as severance, to salaried employees who are at least 55 years old as of December 31, 2008.

For eligible participants who are among a group of about 360 key employees, the severance benefit will range from 15 months of base salary to double the sum of base salary and a target bonus. It will also include continuation of medical benefits.

At least they got nice severance packages, but it still sucks losing your job.

yep, something everyone could see coming. InBev isn't known to keep on too many employees if they don't see a need for them.

I think Bud had planned on doing that before InBev came along. At least I remember reading about Bud cutting some of their workforce.

I like how all the sudden there are a ton of Bud ad's stating they are the Great American Lager. They are really pushing the 'American' slant lately.

BOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ending a 50-year tradition, the new Belgian owners of Anheuser-Busch Cos. will stop handing out samples of free beer at company theme parks including Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa.

At Busch Gardens, the hospitality center will close Jan. 25 and at SeaWorld Jan. 30. Beer will be sold when the two hospitality centers re-open as restaurants.

The move, done to enhance the parks' appeal for patrons of all ages, ends a tradition that dates back to 1959 and Busch Gardens' origin as a small bird garden that offered tours of an adjacent A-B brewery.
