The new and improved Lorenzo Edwards is ready to make his mark in the Florida defense. He has his weight down to where he and the coaches want, and he is using this spring to learn new positions to make his presence felt in the fall.
Q : “How’s the spring going for you so far?”
A: “It’s going real good. I feel a lot more comfortable and things are going a lot better because of it.”
Q: “Are you Spikes’ backup right now or what position are you playing?”
A: “I’m still his backup there, but I’m picking up the WILL linebacker too. I could really be put at any position at any time. So, Spikes and Doe are the guys I’m behind.”
Q: “How comfortable do you feel at the WILL spot right now?”
A: “I feel good. I struggled at first when I was there, but it’s easy to pick up once you know what you’re doing. The MIKE is similar to WILL.”
Q: “How much easier is it to be out here now as opposed to the fall?”
A: “I’m so much more comfortable. My weight was a problem when I first came. I was overweight. I lost some pounds and studied a lot to get used to the defense. Now I’m at 235 pounds, and that’s where I want to be. I’m going to stay right there.”
