I wouldn't post this at GC, but my mother-in-law works at Fort Walton Beach HS in the admin offices and I guess we are recruiting a D-line kid named Akeem Spence. Sounds like he is getting offers from everyone, but is not big on the Gators now. Something about a crappy visit where he wasn't paid much attention.
I don't know how high we are on this guy, but it sounds like we are not real high on his list anymore.
Anyways...it's my one and only insider bit of information, so I thought I'd show off.

A reliable source(colleague of mine) who "knows" the family came by today (for some reason, all my news flashes are arriving today). He knew about Spence, but he also said Spence has visited three schools, and was least impressed with UF. According to my colleague, the D-line coach didn't even meet with him, and that left the kid feeling unimpressed. I'm wondering if that coach was Mattison, and maybe his recent departure is why no D line coach was available to meet with Spence.
1. Can someone check the timeline on this?
2. Is there anything we can do to woo this kid? My colleague says he is a legit 280 and it's all muscle. Coming from Danny Wuerffel High School doesn't hurt, either.

Yeah, I saw that one, but I didn't want to comment on it. My mother-in-law was in town this weekend and I sent her back to Ft. Walton with specific instructions to lay some Gator wood on Spence.
She says he is a great kid, personality-wise. Says he is laid back and friendly.
