UF now ranked in baseball

Florida made its season debut in the rankings at No. 24, replacing East Carolina. The Gators continued their strong start by winning a midweek game against Florida State, then winning a series on the road against SEC foe Mississippi, then ranked eighth. The Gators improved their record to 17-4 and 5-1 in the SEC.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — For the sixth consecutive week, Arizona State tops the Rivals.com Top 25 Rankings. Meanwhile, Long Beach State and Missouri gained ground, climbing to No's 3 and 4, respectively.

Texas A&M (25) dropped out of this week's rankings, while surprising Florida entered the rankings at No. 18.

Here are the conference breakdowns: Pac-10 (5), SEC (5), ACC (4), Big 12 (4), Big West (3), WCC (2), Missouri Valley (1), Conference USA (1).
RIVALS.COM BASEBALL TOP 25
1. ARIZONA STATE (22-1) — PR: 1
The Sun Devils lost their first game of the year, but also beat Arizona and UC Irvine.
2. MIAMI (17-2) — PR: 2
The Canes flexed their muscles in impressive fashion against Wake Forest over the weekend.
3. LONG BEACH STATE (16-3) — PR: 6
The Dirtbags put together yet another impressive display against UCLA over the weekend.
4. MISSOURI (18-2) — PR: 7
In a dominating series win over Baylor, the Tigers outscored the Bears 22-2 in three games.
5. NORTH CAROLINA (18-4) — PR: 5
It wasn't pretty at times, but the Tar Heels finished the weekend with another series victory.
6. FLORIDA STATE (19-2) — PR: 8
The Seminoles continued to rack up wins with a road series win over Virginia Tech.
7. UC IRVINE (16-2) — PR: 9
Though they lost to Arizona State Sunday night, the Eaters still had a productive week.

In addition to losing to Arizona State during the midweek, the Cats dropped a series to USC.

After taking care of South Carolina last week, the 'Dores dropped a road series to Alabama.

The Gamecocks bounced back from a series loss to Vandy by sweeping Mississippi State at home.

The Owls haven't played their best baseball the last few weeks, but went 5-0 this past week.

The Longhorns took their offensive show on the road and took care of in-state foe Texas Tech.

Despite a road series loss to Oregon State, the Waves went 2-2 with a win over Fullerton.

After an entire week off, the Cardinal got back to work this past weekend against Pacific.
15. CALIFORNIA (15-4) — PR: 19
The Bears had a bad midweek loss, but took care of Washington State on the road this weekend.
16. NEBRASKA (17-3) — PR: 21
After splitting a pair of midweek games with Arkansas, the Huskers swept Oklahoma at home.
17. SAN DIEGO (16-7) — PR: 20
The Toreros didn't play their best competition over the weekend, but did finish the week 4-0.
18. FLORIDA (17-4) — PR: NR
The Gators made headlines by beating Florida State and taking a road series from Ole Miss.

19. OLE MISS (15-8) — PR: 14
After dropping a game to Central Arkansas, the Rebels dropped a home series to Florida.
20. KENTUCKY (20-2) — PR: 18
In their first road series of the year, the Wildcats failed to impress against motivated Auburn.
21. CAL STATE FULLERTON (12-8) — PR: 22
The Titans dropped a contest to Pepperdine, but did a clean sweep of UNLV over the weekend.
22. UCLA (10-8) — PR: 12
After a good week, the Bruins showed their inconsistent ways by getting swept at Long Beach.
23. BAYLOR (13-7) — PR: 15
After taking care of OSU at home, the Bears scored just two runs in three games at Missouri.
24. WICHITA STATE (14-3) — PR: 23
The Shockers started MVC play in impressive fashion with a road series win over Illinois State.
25. VIRGINIA (19-4) — PR: 24
After sweeping Stony Brook during the midweek, the Cavaliers did a clean sweep of BC.
