News to note:
Andre Caldwell, WR, Florida: Caldwell ran much faster than expected, clocking both his forty's in the 4.35-second range. He then went on to show natural hands and made several acrobatic catches during practice.
Mario Manningham, WR, Michigan: Manningham was considered a vertical receiver at Michigan but that notion has been put to rest. He struggled to get below 4.6 seconds in the forty.
DeSean Jackson ran fast today, clocking 4.3 seconds in the forty, yet he measured just 5-9.5 and 169 pounds, which has scouts concerned about whether or not he has the size to be a first rounder. ... Florida State receiver De'Cody Fagg went down with a seemingly major leg injury while warming up for the pass catching session. A cast was put on Fagg's leg and he was stretchered out of the RCA Dome.

I don't care what D. Harvey's numbers are. He is going to be a stud at the next level. He has "it" and heart. Neither of those can be measured at the combine.

how does 40 times effect you being a 'vertical' receiver..am i mistaken that vertical means leaping ability?

I read that as vertical being the ability to stretch the field, north to south. Someone like a Joey Galloway who can just jet past the secondary.

:yeahdat
Vertical means you have the speed to get behind the DB's which in turn means the safeties have to play deeper, thus opening up a huge hole behind the LBers for crossing routes, posts etc.

mario manningham has more than just a bad 40 time that'll hurt his draft stock. don't know details, but there's rumors about him off the field.

top 5 WR
King, Justin 4.31
Jackson, DeSean 4.35
Caldwell, Andre 4.37
Jackson, Dexter 4.37
Franklin, Will 4.37
harvey wasn't in top 9 DL
20yd shuttle:
top 5 WR
Shields, Arman 3.96
Caldwell, Andre 4.11
Douglas, Harry 4.12
Grice-Mullen, Ryan 4.16
Johnson, Jaymar 4.18
top 7 DL
Long, Chris 4.21
Gatewood, Curtis 4.22
Jones, Jason 4.23
Ortiz, Chase 4.23
Thompson, Jeremy 4.23

harvey was #9 DL for benchpress. bubba didn't make that list for WR.

I like that bubba is the only WR on both of those top 5 lists of times.

I really think Bubba could be a 1 on some teams and is generally a solid 2 WR. People may not think he has star potential, but I see it in him.

I do. I think Bubba is a more polished WR than Reche was coming out of CFB. Remember 'Che came out early--he was raw talent and he had always just played above 94% of the guys around him thanks to the combination of nasty talent and a superb system. Reche took advantage of that and bolted. Bubba, on the other hand, fought through a major injury and came back better. I have this feeling Bubba has learned more in college than his big bro learned. I feel like Reche may have had more raw, physical talent, but I think entering the draft that Bubba has better overall skills/value than Reche had going into the draft.
