Hey, I've been informed you're Doc Z. If you don't mind I've got a question. Were you ever allowed the time or opportunity to apologize for posting the comment you were banned for. I could not get that answer from the pub folks that banned you....I've been suspecting they did not. I tried to work with them to unban you....it was successful, however, needed to allow a bit of time to go by as Vanders was in meltdown.

You may not give a hoot about this anymore....but I'm sorry for what has happened. Am trying to get this straighted out. You're a good poster and missed on Too Hot.

Yes, I am DocZaius. I guess they matched up IP addresses or they figured out the Charlton Heston movie references.

No, no one ever contacted me about anything. I got banned and then I heard they were considering unbanning me and I never heard anything about it.

I admit that I did something stupid (though I insist it was also funny). I didn't expect anyone to take it so seriously.

I'd be happy to offer an apology to vanders for using her name. I can understand how she'd be upset about that, even in a joke context (though I think she overreacted).

I don't remember who it was that I left the comment for, though. My understanding is that it upset him, too, though I think it was pretty obviously a joke. I'm not so sure that I owe him an apology. The Pub ain't what it used to be, I guess. Seems like lots of folks get their panties in a twist over nothing.

In the end, though, you're right: I don't really care anymore. I was surprised at the (permanent) banning because it was a pretty extreme reaction to a rather minor infraction. But I've moved on.

I assume that, since my IP hasn't been banned, the powers that be don't have a problem with me returning under an assumed identity. I think I'd rather let sleeping dogs lie at the moment. If anyone asks, I will admit to being DocZaius, but I don't see any reason to kick up a stir over this.

No problem and I agree....take it easy for a bit and post under Omega. Often it's a good plan...Blakejah returned as SammyS and it's worked. I think someone with higher authority gave you a pass....when one registers under a different name, but same IP, they're immediately caught. Since no alarms went out....they've let you return.

Thanks for answering....I'd always questioned whether you had a chance to explain or apologize before being banned.....the mod sidestepped me for the most part, telling me you did not apologize....so I figured he didn't and lied to me. :lie: On the internet so much can be misunderstood, so posters are given the chance to explain...in this instance you were not given that opportunity. My guess is it was Vanders and her meltdown. Husband was writing intimidating PMs. She tried that with me, too. It was agreed that you'd return after a short while (so Vanders could settle down).

I'm persona non grata on the Pub. [img]{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] It isn't the same with ol' Vanders running things. Between you and me, I do get some shits and giggles out of some of the old posters who return and give her a hard time.
