Sophomore D-lineman cited for underage drinking

Florida sophomore defensive tackle Torrey Davis is facing a Feb. 7 court date after being cited for misdemeanor underage drinking on Jan. 19.

According to the citation, Davis was holding an alcoholic drink outside a downtown nightclub. Davis admitted to drinking the drink, a rum and cola, according to the citation.
UF coach Urban Meyer was busy recruiting Wednesday and said he will comment at a later time.

Davis, who is from Seffner, played in eight games as a true freshman this past season, recording one tackle.

by all accounts he acted himself in a proper manner when being confronted and what have you. Underage drinking in college is a lack of discipline? 98% of students then are likely not only undisciplined, but degenerates. I have zero problem with this "story", and presume Meyer will dole out a punishment befitting this atrocious crime.

I'm so glad I was grandfathered in when I was there. I only needed a fake ID for a about 6 months...I turned 19 in April of 84. Plus, when the legal age is 19 and you're 18...you hardly got carded anyway...especially if you were a girl. Ahhh the memories.

Concur with Mom7.

I went to college in an Ohio town where the beer age was 19 and the wine/liquor age was 21. Which basically meant that at the little bar in town -- which only served beer -- 3/4 of the students could get served anyway. So they didn't card. Age went up after I'd been there a year, 21 for everything, but I was grandfathered in by a matter of a few weeks.

i have an aunt who's 6 years older than me and sent me her drivers license so i was hooked up. football players are more scrutinized though, not too bright to be standing outside with the drink.
