From GC. Wonder if this helps or hurts our chances at a bigtime running back.
Sources have confirmed that Stan Drayton has left the University of Florida football coaching staff to take a position as the running backs coach at the University of Tennessee. Drayton is expected to be announced in Knoxville in the near future. Gator Country is confident with both the sources and the accuracy of the information.

Considering his lack of ever producing a bigtime back. I don't think it is a big loss. Our RB play has been an achilles heal since he has been here. Wish him all the best though.

What TTBHG said. I like the run, and Florida has given me fits since the Wuerffel years with the lack of commitment to developing face-bashing running power. We've had some good backs -- Graham ranks ahead of Fason for me -- but damned if we ever really let them develop.
And I am as big a Percy Harvin fan as the rest of you, but I want some thunder along with that flash.

Fred plus Terry Jackson was a badass combination, with young Jacquez handling the end-arounds.

Bill had some nice conversations with him at the clinics...nice guy...but I agree, if he had developed some big-time backs, this may not have happened. As far as recruits...I've yet to see anyone (including the backs) say the reason they came to UF was Stan Drayton...it's always their assigned recruiter, UM and other things. I'm sure he was mentioned as one of the reasons by a few, but I don't think it will make all that much difference to recruiting.
