When defensive end Chaz Sutton first committed to the University of Florida over the summer he was hardly more than a blip on the recruiting radar. At that time Rivals.com rated him as a low 3-star prospect. Now, six months later not only has he already been bumped up to 4-star, Rivals250 status, there's a chance his stock could rise even further after his dominating performance in the GACA All-Star game.

According to Rivals.com Georgia Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons, Sutton stole the show in Columbus.

"He was clearly the most dominate player in the All-Star game," Simmons told GatorBait.net. "I just watched the video a half hour ago and he had 3 ½ sacks and a couple of tackles for loss.

"No one could get a hand on him, he was too quick off the ball. The field was so wet, so sloppy, that he slipped a couple of times off the line or he would have had more sacks."

When GatorBait.net visited Jenkins High School before the start of the season, Sutton was in the process of trimming down for his senior year. A short time earlier he said he was up in the 250-lb range.

Simmons believes he will get back to that weight and more.

"I would put him at around 235 to 240," said Simmons. "He has broad shoulders where I can see him playing easily at 260 and still keep his quickness.

"I think there are going to be a lot of teams that are going to regret that they didn't offer him early."

Though Sutton has been committed to the Gators for months, he has yet to set his official visit.

"I should be going down there in the middle of the month. I don't really know yet," said the 6-foot-4, 230-pound end.

One holdup could be his questionable academic situation. For his part, now that his season is over, Sutton is concentrating on one thing, and one thing only.

"I'm working on my grades," said Sutton. "I'm having a real hard time with the SAT right now. I need to get that straightened out. Florida's talked to me about it. I need to get an A in a couple of classes, maybe a B and it will help me with what I need to score."
