I'm Not Sure What Sucked Worse

I didn't even see the half time show. I can't imagine it was worse than how our defense played. I had a bad feeling about that game and it just sucked. I said it in another thread, I can't wait for the spring game...I know we will win that one! I sure hope that Urban is able to get some really good defensive player recruits! In the meantime, we need to coach up the ones we got!

SG is in meltdown mode. Strong sucks, Mullen sucks, Haden sucks, Tebow sucks, etc, etc, etc.

I hate losing, but I also recognize how young and inexperienced this team is and it's not like we got blown out. Idiots.

This game sort of reminded me of the UGA game in that it seemed the other team just plain wanted it more. While I do think our defense is inexperienced...they DID play 12 other games...I thought they would be better than they are right now. I really think more than the experience that is lacking, they are lacking senior leadership...or any kind of leadership (from the team, not the coaches). Tony Joiner is NOT that kind of motivational player, no matter who he rooms with.

Eh, Bill went to the Den after the game and read all the meltdown stuff...he didn't say much though.
Okay, let's try this!

Let us also recognize that Michigan, once healthy, was a pretty good football team. Lots of leadership, lots of strength, and the QB and receivers had career days. It ain't like we got beat by Florida State.

i would have liked to see some of the players aside from harvin involved. it's hard for tebow and harvin to win a game by themselves.

Definitely agree. Some of that is on Mullen, some of it is on Tebow. I kept thinking the whole game, why don't we try to get Bubba, CI, and Aaron Hernandez more involved? When we did, it worked a lot. I also wondered why Kestahn Moore disappeared from the game. He had a couple of nice runs early. And if you don't want to use him, why not put Brandon James in to run it a couple of times?

our line play was horrid today. both sides of the ball. that said there is no need to go into meltdown over this game. Toothy may be a Mich homer but he's right, when healthy they were a good team.
if we don't find a way to get some pressure on a quarterback it will make no difference who is in the secondary. if you give a decent QB that long to throw, someone will get open. and to finish that thought, "the filipino superman" tebow needs more than a millisecond to throw the ball (unless Mullen calls the spin the world back to reverse time play).

it was a difficult loss but we did keep it close.

let the countdown start to the spring game.

This game was lost in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

let's not forget too that this is TTs first full season as the starter. his first bowl start.

i agree with line play and all but you gotta make those reads on the blitzes and he didn't...he did it all year well enough to give us 9 wins. i just felt as if he was not sure of his reads and that should come in time imho. he looked kinda tentative all game...even on his TD run, i noticed him to be real tentative when he celebrated...almost unassured kinda.

i would've loved to see more variety in the offensive play...didn't see any shovels....didn't see many counters, traps, and screens that would normally be deployed against an agressive defense like UMs...would've loved to have seen less reliance on harvin...he looked out of shape...kehstan looked good on his very few runs imho...he fought hard for the few yards he did get. hernandez seems to be more featured now, good for him...

TT doesn't play defense. In fact, neither does the Gators.

new defense. new starters. first time start for many in a bowl.

i knew it was going to be a barn burner. let's just say i knew it was NOT going to be a defensive battle. that said, the offense should be able to do their thing.

I knew it was going to be back and forth, I was just hoping that UF was going to be on the forth end.
