wholeheartedly disagree. I'm not saying I think he will be a success at the next level. I'm saying I think he gets drafted in the first round, whether he turns out to be a success or not. That said, I'm not sure if he stays all four years or not, I won't/can't blame him either way.

I think he can play at the next level. To tell the truth, I think you're going to see a change in the NFL of the prototypical QB since there aren't a great amount of pocket passers. Now, I don't think he will be the runner that he is in college because the NFL is so fast, but the dude is big and strong with a very good arm and that is all the NFL wants. I'm with Hater, I think he could be a 1st rounder. And I found this cool tshirt:

hmm

you both think timmy can be an nfl qb? i'm not so sure as you both. like a steve young or a mike vick on steroids? (not implying tt is on 'roids...just saying he can truck someone over as opposed to juke like young and vick)

how bout RB/FB or even safety just like scott frost did when he came out of nebraska into the pros? tim's got the head, the smarts, the knowledge...conceivable?

I think he is too tall for those positions rad. In the NFL, he will be able to truck over people in the secondary but I don't think he will be able to do it to NFL LB's like he can in college. I don't know if he will be successful in the NFL, but I do believe that he will be drafted pretty high.

rad,

again, I did not say he will be a success at QB. I don't know (or care). I do think he gets A SHOT. I also think he will get drafted in the first round based on measurables and college production.

Personally I think he is destined for greatness...and I think he will get drafted high and I do believe he would do well in the NFL. Why? Because that guy is a competitor...he will not accept losing and has a huge desire to win! Guys like that don't have a choice...they are a success at whatever they CHOOSE to do. Plus, I think he would like to get a high profile and use it for good causes that he believes in.

I could be wrong but I have no doubt that whatever HE chooses to do, he will be successful. Failure is just not an option for him.

i hope he does but i don't blame him a bit if he were to go. make your money while you have the chance, don't risk injury if the high draft pick is anticipated. you can always go back and finish later ala emmitt smith.

In three seasons at Utah Alex Smith passed for over 5000 yards. I guess he couldn't throw and to boot he also rushed for over a thousand yards. So is Timmy a product of the system like Danny boy in the late 90's or is he an actual quarterback like a Carson Palmer.

hangin your hat on Carson Palmer? trust me as the QB on my fantasy team i can tell you he is average this year at best. :waitingfortheexcuses:
so you're saying that the only translation to the nfl is drop back pocket passer? i think we're seeing the change at the QB position and soon it will start to translate to the nfl as more coaches start to draw up an offense around it.

How have running quarterback faired in the NFL? Timmy getting hit by a linebacker in college is going to be a lot different than getting hit by someone like a Ray Lewis. The NFL is bigger, faster, and stronger.

Timmy is a middle linebacker compared to Steve Young. They don't even compare in size, style of play or anything
